Chapter 4
Boom!
Just few sentences, and the entire lobby erupted like a stone thrown into a calm lake.
Everyone froze in place, the young man standing in front of them... He was actually the mysterious Mr. Moore who had bought the king villa at Riverside Manor?!
This had to be a joke!
They all looked at my clothes, and their expressions gradually turned strange, after all, I was clearly supposed to be the super-rich guy who had spent six hundred million dollars on the most expensive villa in the entire community.
Yet the clothes on my body were so cheap and low-key.
It was almost unbelievable.
The young saleswoman who had first greeted me was also completely dumbfounded, she could never imagined that the random guest she tried to help would turn out to be the legendary Mr. Moore.
Everything felt too surreal.
As for Director Clarke, her body was trembling uncontrollably from fear. She stuttered in disbelief, "M-Manager Hayes… you're joking, right? How can he.."
The moment those words came out of her lips, Manager Hayes turned his head and gave her a cold look "Didn't I warn everyone earlier: do not look down on any customer who walks in. But now it seems, Director Clarke, you completely ignored my words, didn't you? Fine. Go to HR right now and process your resignation. From this moment on, you are no longer an employee of our company. Get out!" Manager Hayes waved his hand, impatience written all over his face.
The moment he said that, Director Clarke panicked completely, she dropped to her knees with a loud thud and begged loudly "SIr! Manager Hayes, I was wrong! I was really wrong! Please give me another chance! I won't do it again!"
Manager Hayes didn't respond to her at all; the man simply turned to me with a respectful smile and said, "Mr. Moore, please come inside?"
I nodded.
"Mm." I stepped forward and walked deeper into the office, Manager Hayes followed closely behind me.
Watching the two of us walk away, Director Clarke's face gradually filled with despair.
Lily shook her head beside her and said, "How pathetic. You didn't just anger Manager Hayes — you dared to insult Mr. Moore himself! You still haven't realized who you really messed with. Tsk tsk." Shaking her head, Lily quickly hurried after us.
Inside the manager's office, Lily made tea for both of us and then left the room to fetch my property deed and house keys.
Manager Hayes looked extremely emotional, deep down, he was secretly surprised.
To be honest, he had originally guessed that I would be a middle-aged man in my thirties or forties; but after seeing me in person, he realized I was so young and my clothes were still so low-key.
This surprised him, but at the same time, he secretly guessed my background.
'Could he be the son of some hidden wealthy family?' With that thought in mind, Manager Hayes smiled and said, "Mr. Moore, you really are young and promising. To be honest with you, this king villa at Riverside Manor has been on the market for years, but no one dared to buy it, or even make a move on it. The price was simply too high, and it had become a real headache for our chairman, but now that you've purchased it, you've basically cured his biggest worry. He said that once he returns from his business trip, he will definitely come to visit you personally."
Hearing those words, I felt a little surprised inside, as i didn't expect that the villa I bought through the Godly app was actually worth that much, that even chairman of this giant would feel a headache! It's a real steal.
I smiled lightly and waved my hand "It's not that big a deal. I didn't spend much to buy this villa."
And i really wasn't lying there, after all, I had only paid ten cents for it; However, when those words reached Manager Hayes' ears, his eyes widened slightly in shock as he looked at me.
In his mind, casually saying that such amount of wealth "wasn't much" confirmed everything. He became even more certain that I must be the son of some incredibly powerful hidden family.
Just then, there was another knock on the manager's office door, Lily walked in holding a file folder and behind her, a young man followed, carefully carrying a small watch and a pendant.
Seeing those items, I looked a bit puzzled and couldn't help but ask "This is…"
Manager Hayes smiled and explained, "This is something our chairman specifically instructed us to prepare. Since you helped him resolve his biggest concern, he wanted to express his gratitude. I hope you'll accept this gifts as a small token."
I looked at the gifts and nodded while saying, "Your chairman is very thoughtful." and after going through all the necessary procedures, the property deed was officially handed over to me.
