Melanie stared out the window, then at her phone watch, then out the window again. Where was Riley?
She said she would be back before the evening hours. It was already evening. What if she decided that I was being too impossible and used this as an opportunity to escape. She shouldn't have allowed her to leave.
Melanie would never admit to herself that she was worried because Riley hadn't come back yet. Why would she be worried about a maid? Although Riley was way different from the others, she had already allowed her to call her by her name, that was the highest she could go.

Melanie ran out of her room and towards the stairs. On reaching the stairs, she put on her signature frown and walked down the stairs with the aura of a boss that she was. Sure she was excited to see Riley, but Riley didn't need to know that.
