Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

The game had reached the final minutes of the last quarter with the score clearly defined and a team that waited patiently for the clock to reach 0 to rise with the victory.

13-27 was the score that was visualized through all the screens in the stadium and on the screens of all the viewers who tuned into that channel.

After Wyatt's touchdown in the 3rd quarter, the game had entered a rhythm of rapid changes in offensive and defensive series between both teams scoring field goals.

The only Touchdown on behalf of the black team was due to a deep pass from Christian Hackenberg that was caught by Robert Foster who took charge of running the remaining yards reaching the end zone and adding 7 valuable points for his team.

After that, the white team did not stay with arms crossed, adding a third touchdown orchestrated by Shane Morris, another 5-star prospect quarterback who had accepted to play for the Wolverines of the University of Michigan.

"And now we find ourselves in the final minutes of this great game with the white team entering a new offensive series," said the voice of Adam while on the television the white team was seen putting on their helmets as they entered the field of play.

But the camera focused more on Wyatt, who saw the field with total seriousness while his face disappeared under his helmet and he adjusted the straps to enter the game for the last time.

"And it seems that coach Mariucci gives the public what it wants by putting Sterling in what is possibly the last offensive series that the white team will have and possibly of the entire game," said Tom quickly while he was also attentive to the remaining time of the game which was only 2 minutes.

Katy, Texas

At that moment in the house of Wyatt's parents there was a small gathering since both Ed and Elena had invited Rudy and Caitlyn to watch the match together since neither could accompany Wyatt.

"There he is again!!" said Elena with a smile seeing how the camera pointed at Wyatt and showed him preparing to enter once more into the field. Max, upon seeing his face in the strange box, immediately approached the screen, putting his paws on the small table where the TV was located and started barking at the screen.

"WOOF WOOF WOOF" Max barked frantically at the screen seeking to call Wyatt's attention through it.

"Get down from there buddy," said Ed approaching and grabbing him by his collar making him back away before he accidentally knocked over the television screen.

"Someone seems to miss him," said Caitlyn with a smile stroking Max's head, who began to wag his tail in a sign of enjoyment at the touch.

"He's not the only one," said Elena also feeling the absence of her son at home and how it would be a while before they could see him again here in the house.

Back to the field

At that moment Wyatt had received the ball and retreated enough so that his vision could see the full field and look for one of his receivers, but with the pocket about to collapse and without any receiver in a good position, Wyatt made a simple 5-yard pass to the tight end.

Hunter Henry, upon receiving the ball, held it firmly against his body while he advanced with all his might, shaking off the defensive end that he had closest until the Outside linebacker got in his way cutting off any possible escape route and once the defensive end recovered, between the two of them they managed to bring him down.

"And Hunter Henry after the 5-yard pass from Wyatt gets another 3 yards getting a total of 8 yards on his first opportunity needing only another 2 to obtain another offensive series," said the voice of Tom to all the frantic crowd that cheered the encounter.

"Very good play Tom but we see the clock and there are only 1:35 seconds left on the clock and the white team needs another 60 yards if it wants to add another touchdown," said the voice of Adam giving a more clinical analysis of what was happening on the field.

Without wasting time, Wyatt along with the rest of the offensive unit of the team put themselves back in position right where Henry had been knocked down, ready to restart the game as soon as possible, not willing to waste more time than necessary.

"Set Hut!!" roared Wyatt quickly, receiving the ball.

But on this occasion instead of retreating and giving a pass to any player, Wyatt held the ball against his body running as fast as possible, taking both the black team and his own team by surprise as they did not expect him to do that.

The white team immediately recovered seeking to give space to Wyatt through which he could cross the line of scrimmage, something they achieved, so as soon as Wyatt crossed it, he immediately felt how the outside linebacker along with the right cornerback immediately approached him seeking to sack him.

Henry, who had been keeping an eye on that, immediately tackled the cornerback who was approaching toward Wyatt giving him just a space through which to run without problems, adding even more yards for his team.

Running as fast as possible, Wyatt only had his gaze set forward toward the end zone, reason why he did not notice the safety who was approaching from his side and who at the moment he was close enough pushed him toward the right causing Wyatt to fall outside the borders of the field by the sideline.

Despite that, Wyatt had achieved his objective having covered another 20 yards for his team ending at the 40-yard line of the opposing team's side.

55 seconds remaining for the end of the game.

Helped by his teammates who were closest to him, Wyatt immediately stood up and returned to the place where the rest of his team was, ready for the new opportunity he had obtained.

On this occasion the defense of the black team was more watchful and ready in case Wyatt attempted another solo run like the previous one, so Wyatt desisted from that and instead forced a quick pass toward Laquon who was in the left corner of the field next to the cornerback who was marking him strongly.

Jumping as hard as he could under the interference of the cornerback, Laquon extended both hands seeking to catch the pass, but despite his best efforts he only managed to touch the ball in his hands before being able to control it, with the ball ending out of bounds.

"And incomplete pass from Sterling who, seeing that he could not repeat the same trick as the previous play, forced a pass toward the corner where Treadwell was located," narrated Tom.

"I'll say Tom, and seeing the time that remains on the clock and the entry of the white team's special team, we assume they will attempt a field goal," said Adam.

And just as both commentators said, the white team sent its special team to the field, with Ryan Santoso being the one in charge of kicking the ball, and being the best kicker of the entire class, he sent the ball without problems through the two posts of the goal post adding 3 more points for his team.

13-30 current score.

With 20 seconds remaining to play and a difference of 17 points, the black team entered the field completely dejected, completing only 2 passes before the referee's whistle blew indicating the end of the game.

"And so ladies and gentlemen the Under Armour All American is over with a final score of 13-30, the white team is the clear winner of this encounter," said Adam once the game ended and the players little by little were shaking hands just like the coaches and their assistants.

Wyatt Sterling Passes: 6/8 75% accuracy Sacks: 1 Passing yards: 107 yards Rushing yards: 35 yards

"What a show Wyatt Sterling gave us in this one, who without a doubt will be the MVP of this game having been the only player to throw 2 passes for touchdown and run 35 yards, breaking the record of the last dual-threat QB."

While the commentators continued giving details about the best plays and analysis of the most outstanding players, down on the field the organizers began to set up a stage quickly, crowning the white team as champions of the 2013 All-American.

After that, what followed was a somewhat cumbersome process for Wyatt since after receiving the MVP trophy from one of the Under Armour executives, he had to pose for photos for different media outlets and interviews.

Once all that was fulfilled, Wyatt could finally breathe a sigh of relief while he returned to the place where the rest of his team was, celebrating in the middle of more than 30,000 people who were applauding and celebrating after seeing a great game.

Night

Going down in the elevator Wyatt went directly to the event hall in which the rest of the players and important people were found celebrating the victory of the white team and the great game they played with high ratings which completely satisfied all parties involved.

As soon as Wyatt passed through the door a silence settled in the whole room, so that then one person started to applaud followed immediately by the rest of the people who were at the event.

"The MVP has arrived" someone shouted in the crowd of applause, causing even more noise and louder applause.

"MVP MVP" were the chants that started to be heard while Wyatt walked quickly with a smile from ear to ear while little by little he entered more into the celebration and the atmosphere returned to its previous calm.

"That sure is a welcome my friend," said the unmistakable voice of Laquon who at one point had approached Wyatt.

"You're telling me," Wyatt responded to him seeing all the crowd that had their eyes on him.

"Playing with you was incredible," said Laquon while he still remembered the 20-yard pass from the game and how he caught it and was received by the ovation and praise from the public.

At that comment from Laquon an idea started to form in Wyatt's head, remembering that he still had not accepted any university scholarship "Tell me, wouldn't you be interested in coming to Clemson?" Wyatt asked Laquon trying to see his reaction to that comment.

Laquon was surprised at that totally unexpected comment and a look of deep reflection was seen on his face "You know, I was originally going to choose Ole Miss," said Laquon telling Wyatt his preferences.

"But seeing what we achieved today I think South Carolina wouldn't be a bad idea," he finished saying with a smile while he extended his fist to Wyatt, who bumped it with pleasure.

"I guess I'll see you in August," said Wyatt while his eyes landed on someone who was leaning on one of the bars of the event "If you'll excuse me," said Wyatt heading immediately there.

Wyatt's sight landed on a black head of hair wrapped in a black dress that highlighted her curves who seemed to lean in a bored way on the bar "Excuse me?" Wyatt asked, attracting immediately the attention of the girl who gave him a blank look as if he were not the first to approach.

"I'm not interested," was the blunt response he received from her.

At that a smile appeared on Wyatt's face "I only wanted to ask you what it was that you were drinking," said Wyatt pointing immediately to the glass that was in front of the girl.

"Do you even care?" asked the girl just as sharply, winning a shrug from Wyatt while he signaled to the bartender and ordered the same as her.

"I'm Wyatt by the way," he said presenting himself without even turning his face toward the girl in question who simply arched her perfectly lined eyebrow "Fine Wyatt, I guess then you know who I am," said the girl while Wyatt received the drink and gave it a long sip.

"Kendall Jenner right?" Wyatt asked trying to confirm if it was her.

"Does that technique actually work for you with girls?" Kendall asks without being very impressed.

"Who said I was flirting with you?" was Wyatt's response with another question.

"Then what is the MVP of the All-American game doing here and not in the center of the crowd?" Kendall followed, pointing to the crowd that was over there.

"So you know who I am, I'm flattered," said Wyatt bringing his hand to his chest "When people shout MVP all around you it's not hard," Kendall downplayed it giving a sip to her glass.

"And what brings one of the Kardashians here?" Wyatt asked wanting to continue with the conversation.

"Just a few days of rest from all the drama and the cameras," Kendall responded to him.

"I see," responded Wyatt while both returned to a silence which did not turn out to be completely uncomfortable.

"Aren't you going back to the celebration?" Kendall inquired after a few minutes seeing that Wyatt was not moving.

"Sometimes it's overwhelming being the center of attention everywhere you go," said Wyatt winning a smile from Kendall at his comment.

"Wow, how humble," she responded "Then what are you doing here?" she asked.

"Well, only to make an appearance, originally I planned to leave," he responded to her.

"Then why are you still here?" Kendall continued asking.

"Well, something caught my attention," he responded to her this time looking at her and moving slightly toward her.

"Should I feel flattered then?" inquired Kendall coquettishly placing her hand over his.

"Well if you want we can go upstairs to my room and I'll show you," Wyatt said to her without hesitation, evaluating her reaction.

At that a thoughtful look crossed Kendall's face while her eyes completely evaluated Wyatt and she made a decision.

"Lead the way," Kendall responded to him straightening up.

With that answer a wolfish smile settled on Wyatt's face while both left discreetly through the side door and went upstairs.
