Chapter 32 - Finally, A Grueling Success

Under the sunrise, three figures reside; one tall, two short, two standing, one sitting.

'Damn, she has attempted over a hundred times now...'

Koji couldn't help but cringe at the pitiful sight of seeing Ivory once again failing miserably.

'Keep going Ivory, a wise woman shall endure the hardship, but not view it as hardship; rather, she shall view it as opportunity, because hardship is only in the mind I say! A wise woman holds equal value to all experience, and therefore is not effected by it. Success, failure, only fools shall view them as opposites!'

Koji was extremely proud of himself for coming up with such an idea.

'Hehehe, this is perfect! Wait--I try to avoid hardship because I let it effect me... I just realized that! Wait, then according to myself I am a fool!'

'Ugh, this is of the upmost annoyance! Bloody hell mate, never would I have expected such a catastrophe to play out in my mind!'

Suddenly, he started talking to himself with a British accent.

'Fine, it's okay that I am the fool; soon I will learn to be the wise man--after all, all wise men must start as fools, and gradually work their way up to becoming wise!'

'Eh?'

"Yes! Daddy, I did it!"

Koji was pulled from his trance back to reality, and was utterly startled at Ivory's words.

'Did she call me daddy?'

However, he then saw that Ivory's dark green eyes were looking past him; in fact, he could already see the figures shadow as it's towering stature past by him.

'Oh, well that makes more sense...'

"Good job sweetie!"

Lin walked over to Ivory with a smile plastered over his face; he was extremely proud of his daughter for finally succeeding.

But suddenly, Koji noticed Ivory looked over at him; as if seeking validation. Her eyes were pleading and wide, expressing a slightly desperate look.

"Oh Eh, good job..."

"Thank you Koji!"

Ivory smiled brightly as Koji praised her; however, Lin was not in the best mood seeing this.

'Only a fool values praise, after all it doesn't benefit you to be praised at all!'

Despite his thoughts, Koji was still slightly happy at the fact Ivory looked towards him for his validation.

'Yes... Very good, very good! This is amazing. Things are going as planned; Ivory shall fall in love with me, and then eventually go on to become my eternal bride! Hahaha!'

"K-Koji why are you smiling like that?"

Ivory looked slightly nervous as she saw Koji's crooked smile, his white teeth shining and his black eyes looking crazed.

"O-oh nothing!"

'Fuck, why did I show my joy on my face? Now she will think I am weird... Hmph! All shall be fine, it's not like that's enough to change her perception of me anyway. Eh, wait--I never asked Ivory's opinion on the black hair and eyes! I must do this at once.'

"Oh Ivory, I have a question."

Ivory's green eyes shown with a childlike curiosity.

"What is it Koji?"

"What do you think of my new hair color? Isn't the black better than the stupid white?"

Ivory's face contorted in skepticism.

"W-well you look scarier, but better too I guess..."

This is exactly what Koji had been hoping for!

'Yes! This is good, now I look scary; however, I am still hot!'

"Thank you for your input Ivory!"

After that, they left the swaying field of grass and returned back to the house; the chandelier still shined, brightening everything that could be caught by it's light. Past it, Koji did; heading for his room to put his body to rest.

He closed his eyes, his eyelashes batting slightly; until at once they completely closed, and he fell into a deep slumber.

He awoke inside of a void, a lightless, spaceless, pit of utter nothingness.

'What? Is this a dream?'

Suddenly, as if the floor, the lightless floor that had barely seemed to be a solid, started rippling. The ripples reflected light that should have not been there, and Koji could see himself in the ripples; he could see the crooked smile on his face, and his bulging, black eyes, and blood all over his pale face; he looked like a crazed murderer.

'W-what the hell!? Why is there blood on my face? T-this dream is really getting weird!'

Suddenly, bodies floated up into his view; the first one being of a short, pale girl with white hair and dark green eyes.

'Wait, what?'

Koji could only feel one thing at this sight, utter terror; because the body floating in the black pond was Ivory; her small, frail body that seemed completely lifeless.

But suddenly it flung up, her delicate frame walking as if it had no mind; it was like a zombie as it approached Koji.

Suddenly, her once closed eyes opened, revealing her dark green eyes; however, slowly they turned black, and slowly they seeped blood.

Koji's face twisted in terror and disgust; at least, if he was controlling his face it would have. However, he could feel his face just smile wider, smiling to the point of pain.

'Make it stop, make it stop! No get away!'

He tried to run away from the approaching corpse, but it was no use; he was unable to move.

Ivory finally reached him, her soft, delicate hand reaching out and touching his small shoulder; her innocent face devoid of life completely. A demon could never taint a child to this point, it was as if the devil himself took her soul away.

'W-what?! No! No! Stop!'

Suddenly, Ivory leaned in; crashing her red lips against Koji's lips; he felt her disgusting tongue fling into his mouth, and then felt something crawling into his mouth.

It was a serpent; a serpent was crawling into his mouth; he gagged and gagged, pulled and pulled, tried to scream; it was all useless under the little girls advances. The serpent just kept slithering and slithering deeper and deeper down his throat. He could feel it's scales scratching against his esophagus; it's slimy goo residing and leaving a disgusting taste in his mouth, but worst of all the feeling that it gave of complete hopelessness and dread.

'Fuck! Fuck! I'm gonna throw up! Get away! Please, please make it stop...'

He wanted to cry, but his face wouldn't move.

He wanted to scream, but his tongue wouldn't move.

He wanted to think, but the feelings coursing through him were too distracting.

His very essence felt as if it was being sucked out, as if the serpent of death coiled around his life like it was a lemon, and squeezed till it leaked every last drop.

'A-am I going to die?'
