Chapter 38 - Uea XVIII

The group finally arrived at their destination, a beaming town filled with adventurers and participants. There were also many stalls selling food, items, and relics, and there was a huge inn right in the center of everything. The inn seemed luxurious, with tinted windows, beautiful white walls, and a towering wooden roof that reached the skies.

"Woah, this is one heck of a paradise!" Lanister was freaking out, his eyes fixed on the beautiful sight in front of him.

"Yeah, this is wonderful," Naki added, seeing the orange lights filling the darkness of the night, as they finally entered the Town of Uea.

As they walked around the marked road, they could see carriages for nobles, obviously, and many people talking and laughing. There were even restaurants to just chill at, and quiet spots that were perfect for a picnic.

"This place is just so dreamy," Geia said, looking at everything, the details, and the stretched road in front of them.

Finally, they got to the inn. The inn was called "Night, Morning," and it was packed with people. These people were of co-races, such as demi-humans, which included wolves, elves, and cats.

"I'll go register, you guys just talk here," Corus said as he left the group.

"So, what are your first thoughts of the town?" Loran asked, this time not being cocky.

"It's an awesome town, honestly, way better than even the Capital of the Light Kingdom," Naki stated, comparing the small town to one of the largest capitals.

"Really? That's huge. You're basically comparing an ant to a beetle, you know?" Geia commented on how Naki was comparing the town, the ant, and the capital, the beetle.

"Well, I've been to the Capital of the Light Kingdom, and it was really fun there. I just loved the vibes and the foreign stuff they had, but honestly, seeing this just gives me this warm feeling, you know," Lanister stated.

Meanwhile, at the registration, Corus was standing in front of a man with orange hair and eyes. He seemed to be a friendly person as he spoke.

"Hello there, my name is Kunka, and are you going to book a room?" Kunka spoke. It was like a script someone gave him.

"Yes, a large one, please," Corus said, his voice still firm and quiet.

"A large one. There's an eighty percent off for participants, and if you can, can you clarify how many are staying in the family room?" Kunka asked. This time, it seemed like professionalism rather than a script.

"Five, counting me," Corus stated, as Kunka gave a key to Corus, as well as a number card.

"Your room is 53. It's ten gold coins per two days, originally ten per day, but this time it's for two days."

Corus sighed as he reached out his hand, giving one diamond coin to Kunka.

"Hold on! Are you trying to stay here for a year?!" Kunka's voice was loud, not loud enough for everyone to hear, but definitely loud enough for Corus.

"Well, I don't want you calculating. Keep the change. We'll just stay here until the entrance exam starts," Corus replied, still nonchalant.

"Oh, if you manage to enroll, you can stay here for free. I mean, this inn is actually a dorm for students, since the Uea built this town as basically the campus," Kunka stated as he took the diamond coin and placed it on the register.

"Is that so? Well, I guess we won't leave then. If my time ever runs out, I'll pay again," Corus said.

"Oh, no need for that. Once again, this is free for students," Kunka stated.

"No, for your services," Corus replied as he walked out with the key and card.

"That guy… is he a noble?" Kunka thought.
