"My dear sister waits for me until I am almost home. Once I found the other two idiots. I met someone named James. You two are alike in many ways." Pia wrote to herself as she wrote in her living room. James looked at her walking up, wiping the night from his eyes. He questioned her, "Why are you sitting down in the near darkness?" He turned on the kitchen light and looked at the book she had put away from her. She spoke neatly and calmly. Pia has been thinking about this convention all of yesterday evening and night, and into the morning. "James sat down and we needed to talk," James said, sitting down, unsure, and wondering how much she knew about him. He asked, "So what is this about?" Pia stifled her words to sound more formal. "We haven't been honest with each other." James thought to himself, knowing she was right about everything, when he got up, walked to the kitchen, and got a medium-sized mixing bowl, saying, "Let's just put our names in here, and if ever we get drawn out get to talk first. Pia broke her formal persona. "James, that is foolish-" She stopped herself. "Okay, James, let's try your way then." They ripped a piece of paper, wrote their names on it, and placed it in the bowl. James spun the bowl around a couple of times then drew the name looking at Pia who masked her nervousness, and crumpled the paper in his hand "Well, I guess I go first." He straightened himself, locking eyes. Pia said before he could speak "I will not tell anyone this information ever, just you and me. James cried on the inside, whispering, "Thank you." He thought to himself, "My name is James Li Kim and I had a boyfriend, and a mom both of whom had died because of me. My boyfriend's name was Houston Patel, with a thin nose, a fit body, curly black hair, and heterochromia, one eye was dark brown, and the other was nearly emerald green. Larra Li, and my dad is Ben Li. My mom had long straight black hair, dark brown eyes, tall I believe. My dad- He had-" James thought to himself, trying to remember his dad. It had been so long I nearly forgot what he looked like. "My dad has fluffy wavy hair, dark brown eyes, and a round face. My Earth is in the year 2075, and I'm 18 and a half years old, and 6'1 ft, maybe 6ft." Pia took a deep breath, saying, "Kim I'm surprised." Jame looked at her, knowing she was stalling for time. "My name is Pia Scott. I lived in the year 2124." They looked at each other, both wanting to say more. James got up, walking to her with his eyes glowing a hint of green. He grabs her face and brings her closer to him. Pia didn't fight it and embraced him. She stood up, pushing him against the wall, and they looked at each other. Then everything went almost white-green. Pia yelled, "James are you there?" James looked around, seeing she was in the same spot. He looked at the clock that was above her seat time and hadn't moved. His heart pounded with pain against his chest, thinking to himself. They looked at her plainly, "We need to leave soon. I'm going on the walk and I will be back soon." Pia noticed the shift as he walked to the door, and she tried to lighten her tone, "We are fine, James." He tried to smile, "Of course, Pia, see you soon, then we can find the others." He closed the door behind her, and she yelled a couple of curses before smoothing herself out.
James walked through the village, then seeing a familiar face, he called out, "Hendrik, hey," James ran over, but Hendrik looked confused seeing him. He spoke, asking, "Do I know you? James, a nervous laugh said, "Yeah, we met in the town square." Hendrik looked around for someone. James took his hand down a familiar pathway. "We went to the bathroom where you cleaned me… up." The clean box holding a modern bathroom was gone; it was just a small field left. Apua sighed, looking at the other, then said, "My dear reader, changing time can cause new reactions to the multiverse. A lesson James, Mason, Jeff, and Pia are going to learn." Hendrik looked sorry for him, the same pity others felt for James throughout his life. When his dad went to jail and then when his mom and Houstion died, and the latter was then that he lashed out at his foster parents, now more than a month ago. "I'm sorry, stranger, do you want me to stay or leave?" James tried to smile, now to cry, "You can leave, I will be fine." Hendrik left him. James waited until the footsteps became soundless. James' tears poured from his eyes. Hitting the ground, someone or a group of people hugging him. He looked back, seeing his spirits embracing James, who kept crying, unable to stop himself. After an hour, James left the forest, walking back to town, seeing Pia holding their bags. James gave a smile, saying, "I just need one thing before we leave." Pia didn't say anything, but she spoke more with her eyes. "Take all the time you need." They hit the outskirts of the village the next day on a hill where the sun was rising. James groaned, "Why did we have to wake up so early in the morning?" Pia looked back, seeing James wearing a large handmade dark blue backpack with stitches running down its side over his shoulder. "First, you know why we have to wake up so early, and second, why did you bring the bag?" James smiled, patting between every breath, "Because the bag was nice and it kept all of our stuff easier." Pia looked at him in disbelief as they made it to the top. As they walked through forests and open fields, though, as the sun now disappeared once again, they set up a fire and small tents for both of them. James opens his bag, pulling out something well-packed. It was a steak. Pia looked at him, "You had a steak in that bag all day in the heat?" Then pulled out a metal pan, saying, "Yeah, for us to eat since we haven't eaten all day." He held the pan over the fire, then looked at Pia. "How long have you had your abilities for?" She was thrown off by the question before she said, "My whole life a guess it's just been with me." She turned her head. "Do you have any abilities?" James nearly dropped the pan into the fire before stabilizing it and saying, "Yes." Pia looked at him as they both sat down near the fire. "I have the power of time, and some energy control." James's eyes glowed green as he held his hand towards the fire. It grew before going down and then back to normal. Pia sat there, impressed by James, then said, "You are learning more about each other every day." She smiled before saying, "Will-hm, you flip your steak before it burns?" He looked at the pan and saw a sizzling steak in it, looking around, starting to panic. She sighed before flipping the steak over with her hand. James had the biggest smile she had ever seen. She wasn't sure it was ever possible until now. "Do not say anything about that!" James looked away. "No, I have nothing to say."
An older woman, nearly in her 50s, grinned under their army helmet. The helmet was metal, their outfit was thin to fit their body and allow them to move around faster. They were all black except for the army; they shone near their fire. "I find them my King," the King replied. His voice was deep, soulless, hard, and gravely. "Good, follow them and don't go off course or you and your family will be executed." The knight replied, "Your will is out way my the grand Killer of the Kingdom."
Jeff yawed as he woke up, moving to the other side of the tent, pulling the blanket, then feeling breathing on his face. Upon seeing Mason's sleeping face, he looked into his light grey eyes, smiling before he looked down for a brief moment. Jeff just looked at Mason as he kept talking into his eyes, and said, "You like this one." Atlas then interrupted his thought. "Shut up, please," He rezipped the tents, seeing that Atlas looked at him. "So I guess we knew you should listen to your mind," Jeff looked at putting on his shoes. "You are not a part of my mind, you are part of this large gem that fused into my chest." He pointed to the gem-embedded chest that Atlas scoffed at, " Potato Tomato," Jeff got up, looking at them, about to say something, but did not say anything. Atlas looked and then said, "You two had better start moving soon before the other gets too far away." Jeff was surprised. "Where are they at?" Atlas pointed north and nodded his head, saying thank you.
Then he heard the tent unzipping as Mason the tent Jeff back away, the wind knocked the blanket off of him, showing that he was wearing nothing but underwear. Jeff's face went beet red just looking at him, Mason realized, saying, "Sorry about that, Jeff." Bending over to pick up his clothes, Jeff forced himself to look as he was cleaning up everything, saying, "We need to be moving to find a way out of here." Mason smiled, saying, "Okay," walking over shirtless, picking up the rest of their belongings. Jeff thought to himself, "Is he doing this on purpose?" Mason looked at him, "Are you okay, Jeff?" Jeff smiled, "Yeah, why would I be okay?" Mason then said, "Well, ever since yesterday, you have kind of acted odd. You know you could tell me anything," Mason looked down, thinking to himself, then towards Jeff, getting closer, grabbing his hand. "Well, Mason, I-" Jeff stopped speaking as his eyes glowed red. A different voice came out, "Hey, Mason, quiet, someone is watching us." He grabbed Mason's mouth, and he looked at Jeff. Then, interrupted by an arrow flying through the air, Mason threw both of them to the ground. A knight came from the tree, racing towards them. Mason looked at, "Jeff to stay back," his eyes went black as he went so fast he looked like he teleported to the knight. Jeff heard bones break as Mason punched the soldier through one of the trees into the next, hitting the ground with a thud. Their helmet fell off to see a teenager only a year older than Mason. Mason looked at Jeff, yelling, "We need to leave!" They got all of their things and left the tent with all of their clothes behind, running through the forest until their legs felt weak and exhausted. They were now on the edge of the forest, panting for air. "Are you okay, Jeff?" Mason looked at Jeff. Jeff looked back down at his hand, "Your hand is 100% broken, we need to find a village for help." Jeff saw a nearby village. "You think you could walk?" Mason tried to get up, but the pain from his leg came back harder as he heard something snap. He collapsed back down to the ground. Jeff picked Mason up, saying to himself, "Let's try something new." his gem and eyes glowed red. The two of them began to shake the ground as the sky darkened, and the wind all around them swirled into a tornado before everything went dark, and their whole bodies were covered in light. They looked around, seeing the village around them. Mason looked up, feeling the sun, then saw people staring at them. They were speaking in a different language, and some were yelling. Jeff fell on the ground, sweat covering his face, before passing out, his gem way more cracked. Mason crawled towards him, "Jeff, come on, wake… up…?" He was seen passing out, too.
"Jeff, Jeffy, Jeffy, hey kid, wake up now," Jeff woke up, trying to move but got pulled back, feeling cold chains around his arms. The room was cold and damp, the cells were medium-sized, and Mason, on the other side of the room, was saying, "Mason, please wake up." Jeff quickly noticed the matching chains around his arms and legs. Mason's eyes darted across the room. He looked at him, pulling him, then being pulled back by the chain around him. "Are you okay, Jeff?" Mason said Jeff smiled at him, "Yeah, like I said, as long as we were with each other."
Jeff's world darkened as he looked around. He walked through the same forest, birds chirping, and the breeze was calm. The air smelled cleaner than ever. There was a small pond. He looked into it; his hair was long, it was off his shoulder, and he smiled. He never had long hair, and his dad was unwilling to accept it. The most shocking part was that his gem was gone, and there was only a large scar left. Jeff was confused, he pushed back it seeing Mason nearly the same, his hair was slightly longer, yet now sporting a mustache. There were 16 other figures of various heights and sizes watching them from the edges of the forest. There was a teenager changing forms, frowning at him. Her name was muddy, and he couldn't understand. There was a teenager about 6 ft, with dark brown eyes, a different face that was rounder than a normal face, and his fluffy, wavy hair. He went up to him, saying, " My name is James Li and her name is [Unknown,]" Jeff tried to find the answer from this. Jeff looked into the water, not sure what to do. Jeff "I need to change for the better, and lose some of my empathy, then I'm willing to take the plunge." Everything went white as he woke up seeing Atlas, and they smirked: "Kill your enemy, my friend and you will find peace perpetually." Jeff sighted looking into the pitch-black sky.
