Chapter 35 - Chapter 35 Letting Go Reluctantly

Riley's POV

I settle back into the passenger seat, turning over everything Silas just revealed to me. My mind drifts back to that first night we came here, replaying every detail I witnessed after pretending to leave.

They had no idea I was still watching from the shadows, but every single one of them acted completely out of character that evening.

Mason had some kind of breakdown, his usual cocky demeanor cracking like glass. Jace turned into my personal bodyguard, practically hovering over me until I reached the car. Silas positioned himself like a sentinel behind Stella, scanning the area like he expected an attack. And Caleb, he practically manhandled Stella into his vehicle without so much as offering to help her with the door.

The strangest part was how none of the other guys even acknowledged Caleb as they were leaving. No nods, no goodbye, nothing. They all acted like he was invisible, which was bizarre considering how tight their group usually is.
