Chapter 3 - 2: Leaving the island

"Man, that fire show was crazy" said Blake as he felt the winds flowing across his body with incredible speed. "You think that's impressive, you should hear what I did back in my homeworld" said Ddraig with a smirk, pride evident in his voice. "What did you do in your world?" Blake asked him as Ddraig began to regale him with tales of his adventures in a world that seemed to run on a logic that was a bit too perverted for Blakes taste.

"So your telling me, you and your advisory was fighting and interrupted a battle between the three factions? That seems hilarious" said Blake through a laugh, though he was more curious on why the factions of the devils, fallen, and angels were warring in the first place. "It was quite funny with them sending their pitiful numbers at me, but it got weird when their more powerful head honchos got involved" said Ddraig as if he was recalling a powerful, and influential memory.

"Hey Ddraig, I have a question" said Blake. "What is it?" asked Ddraig. He seemingly took to the role of familiar real well, maybe it was the years being trapped in a gauntlet. It felt surreal to be free from the prison of God. "What exactly was the reason for this great war?" asked Blake and Ddraig had to think. He wasn't that knowledgeable about the great war, considering all he and his rival worried about was their battles.

"I wouldn't be the best person to ask about it, but the various pantheons and faiths in the world was already a recipe for destruction. Land, faith, and people are somewhat integral to the system that kept the world running smoothly" replied Ddraig. "Other pantheons, like Greek and Norse?" asked Blake. "Greek, Norse, Celtic, Egyptian, and many others including the smaller ones were real, and with the temperament that most gods had, it was only inevitable they clashed" said Ddraig as Blake thought on the new knowledge.

Blake laid down on Ddraigs scales, and it was strangely comfortable despite the spikes. It was quite warm and it was the only thing that Blake expected it might feel like. "Blake, we are nearing land" said Ddraig. Blake got up from laying down and saw what looked like a large continent of ice. The air suddenly began to chill and it felt as if all the heat in the air was suddenly drawn away. "Its very cold" Blake muttered as his teeth began to chatter.

"Yeah it is cold, even I can feel it somewhat" said Ddraig as he summoned up some fire and the air around them barely warmed up before it went back down to frigid. Blake could feel something settle within his body, as if he was going still. 'I need to summon something' he thought as a catalogue of immense density was brought forth in his mind and many ability lay before him.

It didn't take long until he found an ability he needed. Temperature immunity, it would make him immune to the cold and heat, so it was a two for one deal. He immediately called upon it and felt himself warm up comfortable temperatures. "Ddraig, how you feeling?" Blake asked as he felt Ddraig shiver. "Not good, it feels like someone is directly sapping the heat from my body" said Ddraig and Blake imbued him with the same power and he settled down on the shore, if it could be called a shore, of the frozen continent.

"Where are we?" asked Ddraig. "I don't know, I've been in this world for only a short while" said Blake as he saw something intangible spreading over the island. It wasn't exactly a physical wind, but it felt like something spiritual was wrapped around this island and caused the sapping of heat from the very molecules.

"Well, the only thing we can do is explore right?" asked Blake to Ddraig and noticed that Ddraig was focused somewhere else. "Ddraig?" Blake questioned him as Ddraig snapped out of it. "I sense something further in, most likely the ruler of this place" said Ddraig and Blake saw what looked like the outline of a palace farther in.

"I guess that's our destination huh" said Blake. "Be careful, I have a feeling there is something more here that we should watch out for" said Ddraig and they began to set off.

"You know Ddraig, I hate this place already" said Blake as he spoke from his spot on the ground, having slipped on the ice. "Well, such is the way" said Ddraig as he eyed his 'master' on the ground. "Maybe conjure some non-slip boots?" offered Ddraig in a snickering manner. Blake touched his shoes and switched them out for shoes with anti-slip features.

"Well, we only have a bite more to go" said Blake as he resumed walking towards the palace structure which seemed to have been carved almost out of ice. It seemed to shine without reason and only inspired aww and inspiration. "Wow, I need me one of these places" said Blake as he admired the structure. "Why not summon one?" said Ddraig as Blake shook his head. "There wouldn't be a point to it. No satisfaction for just summoning it" said Blake as they finally reached the front gate of the castle and noticed that the gates were open. "Ddraig, do you think they are expecting us?" asked Blake. "Most definitely, their power level is even giving me fright" said Ddraig.

"So, we should head in then" said Blake and Ddraig only nodded. "Better not keep the guy waiting" said Ddraig and they walked forward. It didn't take long for them to enter the castle and they noticed the lack of guards for a place like this. No, it was more like they noticed some of the residents were moving out of sight as Blake caught only the tail end of one.

As they moved forward, the source of the power sensed by Ddraig was painfully clear. Sitting on a throne of black and skulls, was a man with long red hair, a shirt that only covered his arms and most of his torso with baggy white pants. Next to him was a young women with white hair and wore a white and blue dress. Then there was two maids, one with blue hair and one with green.

The red hair was eyeing them, and a small smile was forming on his face.
