Loreen's POV
Loreen watched Ardent cross the room and bow to his father before taking the seat on the opposite couch.
The physician dropped his bag on the table in front of him and sat back with a heavy exhale. Whatever Ardent had discovered was going to shake them, that much was obvious.
What surprised him was how quickly Ardent had come back with his findings. The man had not been gone long.
Examining a body and a room properly took time, more time than Ardent had been away, which meant either he had moved with unusual speed or some of what he was about to say had not come purely from tonight's examination.
Some of it had been sitting with him already, waiting for the right moment to be brought forward.
Loreen said nothing. He looked at his father briefly and his father looked back at him and a quiet understanding passed between them.
His father wanted his throne back. Which meant his father was going to lead this conversation. Loreen was going to let him.
