Loreen's POV
Loreen pushed the door to Lord Huron's office open, without bothering to knock, and walked in.
Lord Huron was standing in front of the shelf along the far wall, a book open in his hands, turning through the pages.
Loreen doubted very much that the man had actually been reading. Not with a line of people waiting outside his door for appointments that had been piling up since his unexplained absence.
Nobody sat quietly reading when there was that much outstanding business waiting to be addressed.
The book had most likely been picked up in the thirty seconds between hearing the door open and turning around, something to hold so that he looked occupied rather than caught off guard.
Lord Huron turned when the door opened. Several emotions flashed across his face before he finally settled on a calm expression. He closed the book in his hands and returned it to the shelf.
