Loreen's POV
Edgar was already standing in front of the sunroom door when Loreen got there. It almost seemed as though he had not moved at all since Loreen left the sunroom for the royal physician's office earlier.
The beta stood with his arms crossed, his posture firm, his eyes sharp as they lifted at their approach.
His gaze moved from Loreen to Sairis, who was right behind him, then back to Loreen again.
Loreen slowed his steps slightly. He had known Sairis had followed him out of Greta's study, but he had not realized how close he was. The omega had kept up with him without a word, matching his pace easily.
That alone said a lot.
"What happened?" Loreen asked, his voice tight as he faced Edgar.
But Edgar did not answer at once.
Instead, he arched a brow, his attention settling on Sairis again, something curious and almost amused in his expression.
