Chapter 3: Dark Clouds of Separation
As they both began the struggle to build their careers after college, the distance started to grow. Sayan became desperate to establish himself, and Nilima faced increasing pressure from her family to get married. One evening, sitting in the park, Sayan said, "Nilima, give me a little more time. I am getting myself together."
But Nilima was blinded by her ego at the time. She thought Sayan was perhaps avoiding her. A small misunderstanding, a few days of silence, and then a long void. No one gave up their pride to speak first. One day, Sayan left the city, leaving behind that unfinished question. For three years, Nilima carried the weight of that question.
