Listening to the resentful wailing, Ash comfortingly patted Brock's shoulder and said, "There, there. Look on the bright side. At least this proves you're a prince."
"But... that was my first kiss! Why is my first kiss with a Snorlax?!"
Looking at Brock in this state, Pikachu could only pat his shoulder in consolation. Meowth, on the other hand, laughed and said, "Maybe Snorlax likes you because you have those squinty eyes, Brock?"
"Please, don't say another word!"

While they were talking, the newly awakened Snorlax was busy eating the thorns that were blocking the spring water. Seeing this, Ash handed it a bag and said, "Here, add some seasoning. You should like it."
"Snor!"
After sniffing the seasoning, Snorlax nodded happily, blew Brock a flying kiss in passing, and went back to eating.
Misty watched Snorlax blow a kiss to Brock, nudged him with a teasing smile, and said, "Looks like she's taken a fancy to you. Aren't you going to respond?"
"I'm begging you, please don't say another word!!"
Team Rocket watched the Snorlax devouring the thorns and collectively gulped.
"Uh... I think we better not catch it. I get the feeling we absolutely cannot afford to feed it," Jessie said, speechless as she watched Snorlax's mouth, which hadn't stopped moving since it woke up. James and Meowth nodded in heavy agreement. "Agreed."
"Man, all that work for nothing. Let's go."
Seeing Snorlax's massive appetite, Team Rocket ultimately chose to give up. Even though they had plenty of funding, it didn't mean they could afford to feed a Snorlax.
But just as Team Rocket was about to leave, Ash called out to them.
"You guys helped out this time too. You might as well come to the village and accept the villagers' gratitude."
Hearing Ash say this, Team Rocket was a bit surprised, but they acted cool and brushed it off. "No need. We're bad guys. At a time like this, we should just walk away quietly."
"They're probably going to treat us to a huge feast..."
"Let's go!"
Seeing Team Rocket instantly run back at the mention of a feast, Ash and the others couldn't help but laugh.

Just as Ash had predicted, the villagers had prepared a massive feast to thank them. Ash took the opportunity to explain the water situation.
"Simply put, those thorns were blocking the water source, which caused all this trouble. But it was an easy fix; we just had Snorlax eat them."
"I see, so Snorlax could solve it. Then I'll be sure to thank the Snorlax later."
Knowing the solution, Carson breathed a sigh of relief. After all, they couldn't always be lucky enough to have Ash around to help.
While eating, Lara looked out at the town, now flowing with spring water again, and realized how beautiful it truly was. "I think I'm starting to understand why you said you didn't want to ruin the peace here, Ash."
"It's beautiful, isn't it? That's exactly why I didn't want to break the tranquility. Quiet villages and towns like this might be on the slow side, but you really don't want to see them destroyed. With the constant development of major cities, peaceful places like this are becoming rarer."
As he spoke, Ash stroked Psyduck's head while it drank water.
"How is it? The water here tastes good, right?"
"Psy~"
Letting out a comfortable sigh, Psyduck nodded and hugged Ash's leg, making it easier for Ash to pet him.
"You really know how to enjoy life."
Ash continued petting Psyduck and said to Lara, "Destroying a place like this would bring down divine retribution."
"Hahahaha, that's Ash for you. Only you would say something like that."
Carson, sitting nearby, chuckled upon hearing Ash's words. This was exactly why he, an older man, had become friends with Ash. Unlike those big-shot bosses who only cared about making money, Ash possessed a reverence for nature that they lacked. Ash's love for the village's beautiful scenery was genuine.
