When Gardevoir teleported Ash and his Pokémon to the floor where Sabrina and Green were, a blast of freezing air hit their faces.
Ash nodded to Mega Houndoom and Mightyena beside him. The two Pokémon immediately dashed into the room, simultaneously unleashing Flamethrowers inside.
Forced by the Flamethrowers, a figure rapidly retreated from its original position. Ash immediately threw a punch straight at the figure. Moving in tandem with him were Absol and Beedrill.
"Coo!"
Just as Ash was about to hit the person, a Delibird suddenly launched a Blizzard at them from the side. The power behind this Blizzard was so terrifying that it even startled Ash. He yelled to Mightyena and Mega Houndoom, "Inferno!"
"Roar!"
With the dual Inferno attacks, Delibird's Blizzard was completely canceled out. Ash quickly led his Pokémon over to Green and Sabrina. In front of the two girls, Blissey had deployed a Light Screen to protect them.
"Is everyone alright?"
Returning to their side, Ash first fed Blissey a Max Potion, then looked at Sabrina, Green, Meowth, and Pikachu. Beside them, Nidoking and Nidoqueen were clutching frostbitten areas, looking at Ash.
"This kind of frostbite... is troublesome."
After spraying medicine on Nidoking and Nidoqueen, Ash looked at the person he had attacked earlier—a guy wearing a mask.
Sabrina walked up to Ash, took his hand, and warned, "Be careful, that Masked Man is incredibly strong. The domain created by his Pokémon can suppress my psychic powers."
"Is that so... No wonder you couldn't use Teleport to get everyone out. Looks like we've got a major problem on our hands." Green added, "Careful, Ash. That guy's Delibird has terrifying Ice-type moves. Your Nidoking and Nidoqueen were frostbitten by it."
"Is that so... In that case, Pikachu."
"Pika Pika!" (My turn!)
"Zigzagoon!"
"Zigzag!" (Tackle him!)
At Ash's call, the two Pokémon hopped onto his shoulders. Then, Ash suddenly roared, "Everyone! Full burst! Retreat!"
Ash's abrupt command stunned the Masked Man for a second. Right then, Mega Houndoom, Absol, Mightyena, Meowth, Blissey, and Arbok all suddenly launched an all-out attack aimed directly at him. Seeing this, the Masked Man immediately ordered, "Delibird, fly me out!"
Accompanied by a violent explosion, the floor of the Silph Co. building was completely blown apart. Meanwhile, Giovanni had already obtained the Master Ball he wanted. Relying on the medicine Ash had given him to heal his internal injuries, he had used his peak-condition Beedrill to teach Red a lesson. Seeing the floor Ash and Sabrina were responsible for explode, he immediately opened his comms and asked, "Sebastian, what's your status over there?"
Without making Giovanni wait, Ash's voice came through the comms. "We're fine... It's just that, Boss, a really huge nuisance showed up this time."
Kept afloat in the air by Gardevoir's Confusion, Ash and his group stared in dead silence at the Pokémon carrying the Masked Man. Because that Pokémon... was the Legendary Pokémon, Ho-Oh!
"SCREECH!!!"
With a piercing cry from Ho-Oh, a blast of Sacred Fire was hurled toward Ash's group. Seeing this, a vicious glint flashed in Mega Houndoom's eyes as it charged head-on into the Sacred Fire.
"Hey, hey, hey! Mega Houndoom, what are you doing?! That's Ho-Oh's fire! You bastard, give me a break! Gardevoir, release your Confusion on Mega Houndoom! Mega Houndoom, get back here right now!"
"Garde!"
Seeing Mega Houndoom charge in, Ash was genuinely terrified. Mega Houndoom had completely gone rogue. The moment Gardevoir released her Confusion, Ash whipped out a Poké Ball to recall it.
However, Mega Houndoom forcibly resisted returning to the ball, using its momentum to dive straight into the Sacred Fire. As Mega Houndoom charged into the flames, it let out a howl. Ash, and countless others watching, perfectly understood the meaning behind that howl.
"As long as it's for you... so what if hell lies ahead?"
Then, Mega Houndoom activated Cerberus: Flame. Mega Houndoom transformed into a flaming, three-headed hellhound and clamped its jaws onto the Sacred Fire.
"Roar!"
When the three-headed hellhound bit down on the Sacred Fire, the divine flames began continuously burning Mega Houndoom. Even though Mega Houndoom had retained its original Flash Fire ability through its Bond Evolution with Ash, it still felt endless, excruciating agony. However, the thought of Ash and the others right behind it made the ferocious glint in Mega Houndoom's eyes burn even brighter. Like a beast tearing into its prey, it viciously and relentlessly bit into the Sacred Fire.
"You bastard! If that's how it is, then completely crush that damn fire into pieces! Go, Mega Houndoom!"
As Ash shouted, he ripped off his mask. Simultaneously, Ash and Mega Houndoom's bond resonated powerfully. The immense agony Mega Houndoom was enduring fed back directly to Ash. Consequently, Mega Houndoom's pain was significantly shared and lessened.
"Crunch it, Mega Houndoom! And become the true Guardian of Hell!"
Driven by Ash's roar, Mega Houndoom—now fully synchronized with Ash's mind—and its flaming three-headed hellhound phantom let out a deafening roar and literally bit the Sacred Fire into pieces!
"Awoooo!!!"
After biting through the Sacred Fire, Houndoom spat out a stream of golden flames. It was the exact same fire Ho-Oh had just used to attack. Sacred Fire!
"Dodge!"
At this moment, the Masked Man was so shocked he couldn't even speak. Although his own veteran Pokémon could defeat Legendary Pokémon, the Pokémon in front of him had somehow absorbed Ho-Oh's flames and made them its own!
Noticing the Masked Man's stupor, Ash—who was leaning on Sabrina and Green for support after sharing Houndoom's agonizing pain—chuckled. "So even you can be shocked, huh? Well, the fun part is just starting. Since Ho-Oh's Sacred Fire has been absorbed by Houndoom... Let's add some malice!"
"ROAR!!!"
With Mega Houndoom's roar, a torrent of pitch-black flames was blasted at Ho-Oh. Facing this unprecedented fire, the Masked Man didn't dare act arrogantly; he immediately chose to have Ho-Oh evade. By now, Ash's group had safely reached the ground. Ash didn't stop for a second; he fed Mega Houndoom a recovery pill and then sent out every single one of his Pokémon.
"Excellent! Now it's time to show you the consequences of messing with my wives!"
After the initial panic subsided, Ash had realized something incredibly important. It seemed... the Legendary Pokémon in this world were a bit weak. It looked like they could just gang up and beat the crap out of it!
