When Lance saw Ash walking toward him flanked by Houndoom and Mightyena, he was somewhat surprised. In his experience, the vast majority of people were terrified of Dark-type Pokémon. But looking at things now, it seemed he had run into an exception.
"In that case... go, Aerodactyl! Use Wing Attack!"
"Mightyena, intercept!"
"ROAR!!!"
With twin roars, Mightyena and Aerodactyl charged at each other. As the two Pokémon clashed, a scene that shocked everyone watching the live broadcasts unfolded. Aerodactyl and Mightyena had actually fought to a standstill! This was Elite Four Lance's Pokémon! It was on an entirely different level from the ordinary Pokémon seen every day.
Even though it was just a single exchange, the contrast was staggering. Every other Pokémon that had fought Lance's Aerodactyl before this had been instantly wiped out. A mere Wing Attack from Aerodactyl had been enough to one-shot them!
While people were still reeling from Mightyena's performance, the first real clash between Mightyena and Aerodactyl commenced. This time, Lance gave a direct order: "Use Supersonic to disrupt its movements! Then follow up with Bite!"
"SCREECH!!!"
Following Lance's command, Aerodactyl shrieked, firing an ear-piercing Supersonic wave directly at Mightyena. As a canine Pokémon, Mightyena's sense of hearing was vastly superior. Consequently, the impact of Aerodactyl's Supersonic was devastatingly amplified. Seeing Mightyena reeling from the interference, Ash commanded, "Snarl."
At Ash's order, Mightyena's eyes gleamed sharply, and it let out a deafening, booming roar.
"AWOOO!!!"
Mightyena's Snarl violently disrupted Aerodactyl's Supersonic. Moreover, because Snarl was an offensive move, Aerodactyl visibly winced in pain.
"Charge in! Deep Bite!"
"Woof!!!"
Hearing the command for Deep Bite, a vicious glint flashed in Mightyena's eyes, and it dashed toward Aerodactyl at blinding speed. Because it had no idea what 'Deep Bite' was, Aerodactyl hesitated for a fraction of a second. Lance, equally unaware of this unconventional move, also froze momentarily. And it was exactly that split second of hesitation that allowed Mightyena to capitalize. It vaulted onto Aerodactyl's back and clamped its jaws ruthlessly down on Aerodactyl's neck.
"SCREECH!!!"
The excruciating pain caused Aerodactyl to thrash and screech wildly. But the more Aerodactyl struggled, the deeper Mightyena's fangs sank. Eventually, the bite tore straight through Aerodactyl's tough, rock-like hide, burying deep into the flesh!
"Aerodactyl, use Supersonic to get it off you!"
Seeing Aerodactyl in such agony, Lance realized the severity of this 'Deep Bite' and ordered Aerodactyl to use Supersonic again at point-blank range to mess with Mightyena's heightened senses. But this time, he made a fatal tactical error.
"SCREECH!!!"
As Aerodactyl unleashed another Supersonic, Mightyena furrowed its brows again. But this time, mixed with the pain in its eyes was a ferocity more primal than ever before.
"AWOOOOO!!!"
Stimulated by the Supersonic waves, Mightyena's violent nature was fully unleashed. Simultaneously, Mightyena's Deep Bite kept sinking deeper! Deeper! And even deeper!
The horrific agony inflicted by Mightyena's fangs continuously overwhelmed Aerodactyl, until it could no longer bear it and was forced to stop its Supersonic attack.
"Now! Mightyena! Cerberus! CRUNCH IT!!!"
Seeing Aerodactyl halt its Supersonic from the sheer pain, Ash issued the final, lethal command. Upon hearing it, Mightyena's body erupted with torrents of pitch-black energy. Then, right in front of Lance's stunned eyes and the shocked gazes of millions of viewers, the black aura surrounding Mightyena materialized into two additional heads.
The two phantom heads formed of pure dark energy locked onto Aerodactyl alongside the real head. The sickening sound of bone-crushing bites echoed through the air, followed by a massive mid-air explosion. Bloodied and battered, Aerodactyl plummeted from the sky. Mightyena, flanked by the dissipating black energy heads, returned to Ash's side.
"Well? To everyone watching this—these are the Dark-type Pokémon you've always looked down upon! This is the power of the Dark-types you've always feared! There are no weak Pokémon, only weak trainers! And your fear of Dark-type Pokémon is nothing but proof of your own weakness! We are pure, absolute Darkness!"
"ROAR!!!"
As Ash's speech concluded, Mightyena and Houndoom howled together. At the same time, Absol emerged from Ash's Poké Ball, throwing its head back and howling alongside them, venting its long-held frustration at the unfair treatment it had endured in the past.
"The Disaster Pokémon! It's the Disaster Pokémon! That guy actually captured the Disaster Pokémon!!!"
When Absol appeared, the entire scene spiraled into pure chaos. In this timeline, Absol's name had seemingly not yet been cleared. The moment it showed up, even the most fearless, death-defying reporters began backing away rapidly, and some outright turned and fled.
Lance stared at Ash's Absol, his brow furrowing deeply. He could clearly see it—the sheer level of power radiating from this Absol was... Champion class!
Looking back at Ash, Lance recalled his Aerodactyl and said, "With your level of power, there is absolutely no need for you to align yourself with Team Rocket. Why are you helping them?"
Ash smirked at Lance's question and replied, "Why? Because it's interesting, of course~ I am Sebastian! One of Team Rocket's Generals. Now then, let us continue..."
