Chapter 17: Reunion of Father and Son

The meeting had finally ended.

All the ministers in the room quietly rose from their seats. The atmosphere was still heavy with seriousness, as if the words of debate were still echoing against the walls.

The King took a deep breath and signaled them to leave.

"You may all go now."

The ministers respectfully bowed their heads and slowly walked toward the door.

As soon as the grand doors of the meeting room opened, they all froze for a moment at the sight before them.

Standing outside the doors was the Crown Prince.

Obito…

He stood there silently and straight, yet his presence carried such authority and power that everyone instinctively lowered their heads in respect.

All the ministers immediately bowed.

"Crown Prince…"

Obito only gave a slight nod, then entered the room without saying a word.

Inside the chamber, only one person remained.

The King…

His father.

For a few moments, time itself seemed to stop.

Father and son looked into each other's eyes.

Years of separation, memories, pain, love, and pride—all of it gathered within that single glance.

Both of their eyes became moist.

The very next moment, Obito rushed forward and tightly embraced his father.

A wave of emotion silently filled the room.

The King embraced his son as well, as if something long lost had finally returned.

After a few moments, the King smiled lightly and said,

"I have grown old now… if you hug me this hard, my back will start hurting."

Obito immediately stepped back.

"Forgive me, Father…"

The King laughed softly.

"You are still the same."

Then he looked around the room.

"Where is Rin? I thought both of you came to the world of Ahnes together."

Obito replied,

"I sent her to Mother… to the Queen."

The King nodded with satisfaction.

But in the next moment, Obito's expression turned serious.

"Father… I heard from outside the room… there was talk about me, and about some great war."

The King remained silent for a few moments.

Then he calmly replied,

"It was nothing important."

Obito's eyes sharpened.

"What disturbance has happened beyond the sea?"

Hearing that, the King's face turned serious.

"The full truth is not known yet. Your uncle is heading beyond the sea with a military squad."

He took a few steps, then continued,

"Some time ago, one of our military squads saw a glowing object beyond the sea… then suddenly, there was an explosion… and the object disappeared."

Silence filled the room.

Then the King looked at Obito.

"But how did you hear about the disturbance beyond the sea?"

Obito answered,

"Jim told me."

The King slowly nodded.

"I see…"

Then suddenly, softness entered his tone.

"You have nothing to tell me about my grandson Wang?"

Obito smiled lightly.

"Father… you already know what mistake Wang made."

The King laughed.

"I do. Then tell me… when is their wedding?"

Peace returned to Obito's face.

"On the first day of next month. I came here to tell you that."

The King smiled happily.

"That is good."

Then he asked seriously,

"Has Wang started training his powers?"

"Yes, Father."

The King took a deep breath.

"You know… after the wedding, Wang and his wife will have to come to the world of Ahnes."

Obito replied confidently,

"I know. That is why I already told him everything."

The King placed a hand on his son's shoulder.

"You did well…"

Then he smiled warmly.

"Come now… let us go meet your mother. She must be waiting for you."

Once again, tears gathered in Obito's eyes.

After many years…

He had finally returned home.
