Chapter 19: The Dark Queen
The convoy of black cars stopped in front of an abandoned warehouse.
The night was silent.
Mengmeng stepped out of the car.
She was no longer wearing her usual elegant clothes.
Instead she wore black.
Dark fitted clothes like those worn by high-ranking mafia leaders.
Her long coat moved slightly in the night wind.
The men around her lowered their heads.
"Boss."
Her eyes were cold.
"Inside."
Inside the warehouse basement…
Feng was still tied to the chair.
His vision was slightly blurry from the pain.
One of the men nearby laughed.
"The great President Gu looks pretty helpless now."
But before anyone could say another word—
CRASH.
The metal door suddenly flew open.
All the men turned.
Footsteps echoed slowly down the stairs.
And then Feng saw her.
Mengmeng.
For a moment his mind couldn't understand what he was seeing.
She looked completely different.
Cold.
Powerful.
Dangerous.
Her black clothes looked like something worn by the leaders of the underworld.
And the men behind her…
They were armed.
The kidnappers stared in shock.
"W-who are you?!"
Mengmeng's voice was calm.
"You touched someone you shouldn't have."
One of the men laughed nervously.
"Do you even know who we are—"
Before he finished speaking—
Mengmeng moved.
Her movements were fast.
Precise.
Powerful.
Within seconds the first man was already on the floor.
Another tried attacking her.
She twisted his arm and threw him across the room.
The rest rushed forward.
But they never stood a chance.
From the chair, Feng watched everything.
For the first time in his life…
He felt shocked.
And strangely…
A little scared.
But even while suffering pain, his eyes stayed on one thing.
Mengmeng.
The way she fought.
The way she moved.
The way she completely controlled the situation.
It was beautiful.
And terrifying.
Within minutes…
Every kidnapper was on the ground.
Unconscious.
Mengmeng walked calmly to Feng.
She cut the ropes holding him.
"Can you stand?"
Feng looked at her silently.
"…Yeah."
She helped him up.
For a moment they simply looked at each other.
Feng still couldn't speak.
Before he could ask anything—
Several more people rushed into the basement.
They were clearly part of her organization.
The moment they saw her, they immediately bowed their heads.
"Queen."
"Boss."
"We have information about the incident."
Feng's eyes widened slightly.
Queen…?
The men continued respectfully.
"This group tried attacking several businesses recently. They thought kidnapping President Gu would give them leverage."
Another man added calmly,
"They didn't know he belongs to you."
Feng slowly turned to Mengmeng.
"…Queen?"
Mengmeng didn't answer immediately.
But her silence was already the answer.
Feng suddenly understood everything.
The mysterious Dark Queen of the underworld.
The most powerful hidden figure controlling countless operations in the city.
The woman no one had ever clearly seen.
The woman everyone feared.
Was his wife.
Mengmeng.
For a moment Feng simply stared at her.
Then strangely…
He smiled.
Because instead of fear—
His heart felt something else.
He loved her.
Even more than before.
Mengmeng noticed the bruises on his arms.
"You're injured."
"It's nothing," Feng replied.
But she shook her head.
"You're staying at my place tonight."
Feng blinked.
"…Your place?"
"We'll leave tomorrow."
He didn't even question it.
"…Alright."
Whatever she said, he would agree.
An hour later their car arrived at a massive gate hidden in the hills outside the city.
The gates slowly opened.
Feng looked outside the window.
And then his eyes widened.
In front of him stood an enormous villa.
Dark stone walls.
Tall structures.
Elegant but intimidating architecture.
Everything was designed in deep black and dark colors.
Luxury beyond imagination.
The place looked like something belonging to a mafia empire.
Feng stepped out of the car slowly.
"…This is your house?"
Mengmeng walked forward calmly.
"Yes."
Feng looked around in disbelief.
The place was enormous.
Luxurious.
Powerful.
Something impossible to forget.
He rubbed his forehead.
"…I think I'm still in shock."
Mengmeng simply walked inside.
Feng followed her slowly.
His mind still trying to understand everything.
But one thing was clear.
The woman he loved…
Was far more powerful than he had ever imagined.
Meanwhile back at the Gu mansion…
Feng's family was in chaos.
His mother paced nervously.
"We still can't reach them?!"
His father looked worried.
"The kidnappers took Feng…"
"And now Mengmeng disappeared too."
His sister covered her mouth.
"…Do you think they kidnapped her as well?"
Even Feng's grandmother looked serious now.
Because no one in the mansion knew the truth.
Their daughter-in-law…
Was not a victim.
She was the most dangerous person in the entire city.
