Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: First Battle

Raiden Ei used the long sleeves of her kimono to disperse the sound waves roared out by the Gorilla, carefully observing its every move. Such ferocious beasts surviving in the wild often possess strong combat experience and a keen sense of danger.

Although she had the blessing of the Raiden Shogun and didn't think she would lose to it, this was her first battle, so it was better to be cautious.

The Gorilla saw that this bipedal creature was merely watching it, unlike the other beasts that would fly into a rage when provoked. It decided not to wait for the other party to make the first move and planned to strike first.

The Gorilla let out a roar, grabbed a large stone, and hurled it at Raiden Ei, then charged forward behind the stone, swinging its thick arms.

When the Gorilla grabbed the stone, she knew it was about to attack and quickly dodged to the side. With Raiden Ei's memories, she knew what to do, but Raiden Ei, in her first battle, was a bit flustered.

Just as she dodged the flying stone, she was caught off guard by the Gorilla that followed closely behind it. She quickly brought kusanagi up to block in front of her.

The Gorilla's raised fist arrived as expected, striking heavily against the kusanagi held horizontally in front of her, but it didn't send her flying as anticipated.

Raiden Ei only felt a great force hit her, but it didn't push her back or knock her away. She immediately reacted, withdrew kusanagi, and then raised it to chop down heavily at the Gorilla.

The Gorilla had a strong sense of danger and immediately knew that not dodging this strike could cost it its life. It crouched down on all fours and leaped backward forcefully, leaving a pit in the ground where it pushed off.

The blade fell too quickly. The Gorilla's arm was cut by the blade, blood splattered out, leaving specks of blood on the ground, and the Gorilla had already leaped back ten meters.

Raiden Ei withdrew kusanagi, looking at the Gorilla's wound, where blood was dripping. It had been quite dangerous just now.

The Gorilla charged without giving her time to react. It was her first battle and she was too flustered, clumsy and unable to fully exert her strength.

Seeing its bleeding wound, the Gorilla also became enraged, letting out a roar and repeatedly pounding its chest with both fists, as if to pump itself up.

Raiden Ei also gripped kusanagi tightly, recalling Raiden Ei's battle scenes in her mind, trying to simulate her own fight with the Gorilla, hoping it would be useful in the upcoming battle.

She didn't want to bully it with Elemental Power right now. Fighting a bare-chested Gorilla with kusanagi was already quite unfair to it.

The Gorilla stopped pounding its chest and roared.

"Roar!"

It punched a large tree, breaking it, then picked up the tree and charged at Raiden Ei.

This startled her. She had never encountered such a thing before!

Although she could now cut down a large tree with her blade, she was still frightened by this scene. Have you ever seen a Gorilla aggressively charging at you with a nearly ten-meter-tall tree in its arms?

Raiden Ei shouted with a hint of anger, "Hey! Gorilla, you're not playing fair!"

She infused Elemental Power into her blade, quickly swung it, and created distance to avoid being ambushed by the Gorilla if she couldn't see clearly.

The tree was cut down, but the impact of its fall still knocked down many trees here, creating a smoky mess that even obscured the Gorilla.

Raiden Ei quickly retreated from the affected area, carefully observing her surroundings, and did not withdraw the Elemental Power infused into her blade.

The commotion in the forest also subsided. The Gorilla troop she had seen upon arrival was gone, and even the bird calls were silent. Such a huge disturbance must have been heard across half the island!

Suddenly, several large stones flew out from the left. She had been vigilant of her surroundings, so she spotted them as soon as they appeared. Without panic, she used the sharp kusanagi to cut the large stones in half, letting them fall to the ground.

Raiden Ei looked at the silent forest again, thinking that waiting here was not a solution. She decided to clear the area.

Raiden Ei increased the Elemental Power infused into her blade and swung it using the slashing technique from Raiden Ei's memories, holding kusanagi with both hands and launching a horizontal slash towards the forest ahead.

The lightning-infused slash swept horizontally forward, effortlessly cutting all the trees in its path in two. The sound of trees crashing to the ground echoed across the island once more.

The Gorilla was truly angry. This was its territory! Territory snatched from other wild beasts, now destroyed like this.

"Roar!"

It roared in fury, grabbed a severed tree, and hurled it at her. The enraged Gorilla also charged rapidly like a cannonball.

Raiden Ei swung her blade, cutting the tree in half, then withdrew her Elemental Power and met the Gorilla's attacking fist with the blunt side of her blade. After all, she needed to practice the combat methods from her memories, and such a good training partner couldn't be let go.

The blunt side of the blade collided with the fist; neither side retreated. The Gorilla's left fist also swung towards Raiden Ei.

Raiden Ei forcefully parried the Gorilla's fist and simultaneously retreated. Using kusanagi was too inconvenient, so she casually plunged kusanagi into a tree stump.

What she needed now was combat experience, not to kill this Gorilla. She could also gain combat experience and familiarize herself with the feeling of battle by using her fists.

The Gorilla had already rushed in front of her. She didn't stand on ceremony either, clenching her right fist to gather strength, adjusting her stance with her left arm, and swinging her fist with full power to meet the Gorilla's punch.

"Bang!"

The two collided, and the Gorilla flew backward, clearly no match for Raiden Ei's full-power strike.

The Gorilla flew backward, breaking several tree stumps in its path, and finally stopped after flying over twenty meters. It got up from the ground, spat out a mouthful of blood, and its arm hung limply.

It still hadn't processed what had happened. Wasn't it evenly matched just a moment ago? How did it get knocked flying now?

Raiden Ei didn't care what the Gorilla was thinking. Seeing that her full-power strike had sent it flying so far, she had thought it might die!

Fortunately, it didn't. The Gorilla could still get up, just spitting out some blood. "As expected of the Pirate King's world, the most tenacious world, where they say as long as you don't finish them off, they'll live to a ripe old age."

Raiden Ei quickly ran towards the Gorilla. It hadn't even been half an hour since they started; a battle should last at least an hour, right!

...

Half an hour later...

The half-dead Gorilla lay on the ground, covered in bruises from being beaten. Ever since that bipedal creature threw away its weapon, it had never gained an advantage.

Its rage and madness were useless; many of its bones were broken.

"Gorilla, that's enough for today. We'll continue tomorrow. Get some good rest!"

She knew that some animals in this world possessed relatively high wisdom; perhaps the Gorilla could understand her!

Looking at the ravaged forest, the sun in the sky was already setting on the horizon, indicating that night would soon fall!

She hadn't yet figured out how to spend her night.

Raiden Ei picked up kusanagi, which was placed nearby, and walked towards the beach, her back to the 'playing dead' Gorilla.
