Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Night

The scenery of the setting sun was still very beautiful, though I didn't know if the sun in the world of the One Piece rose in the east and set in the west.

Raiden Ei walked back from the woods to the place where she had first woken up. Not far away, there were stones peeking out from the sand. She picked one suitable for sitting, sat down, and placed her blade on a nearby rock.

She took a moment to calm her heart, which was racing with either excitement or agitation.

Raiden Ei watched as half the sun sank into the sea before she regained her composure. The events of the day had been too stimulating, leaving her feeling unaccustomed to everything she did.

Gazing at the ocean, Raiden Ei muttered to herself, "I once saw in a short video that it takes twenty-one days to form a habit. I wonder if I can get used to the lifestyle of this world?"

"System..."

"System..."

"No artificial intelligence? That's pretty lame."

Raiden Ei stopped calling out and used her consciousness to view the system panel.

energy conversion system

Initial Panel:

Energy: 0

Raiden Shogun

Age: 0

Constitution: 6 + (50,000)

Armament Haki: 0 + (100)

Observation Haki: 0 + (100)

Haoshoku: 0 + (5,000)

Inventory:

"So this is my golden finger. Is there no newbie gift pack? What exactly can be converted into energy?"

"There was no system prompt when I touched the tree earlier. Do I have to figure it out myself? Does this system respond to my will?"

Raiden Ei looked down and then blushed, quickly turning her face away to pick up a pebble nearby. Her face still felt very hot, and her consciousness felt a bit scattered.

Raiden Ei quickly rubbed her face, recalling what she had just seen. "Can't think about it. Calm down. Whoo, whoo, whoo."

After a while and a few deep breaths, Raiden Ei finally calmed down and began testing. She sent the thought of putting the pebble into the inventory to the system. The system responded immediately to her will, and the pebble vanished from her palm.

Raiden Ei immediately used her consciousness to open the system panel and looked directly at the inventory column. She saw a pebble there. She tried sending the thought of taking the pebble out of the inventory, and the system responded instantly.

The pebble appeared in her hand at once. She examined it repeatedly; it was no different from before.

She tried twice more with the same result, then she picked up the grasscutter and stored it in the inventory as well.

Raiden Ei multi-tasked, observing the changes in the inventory while putting the kusanagi inside.

After putting the kusanagi into the inventory, it was completely different from the pebble. A string of numbers, 10,927, appeared next to the kusanagi.

Seeing this, Raiden Ei understood a bit about how this system converted energy. As long as an item was put into the inventory, anything with energy value would be marked with a number. If she conveyed the desire to convert the kusanagi into energy, the system would do so.

Of course, Raiden Ei would definitely not convert her own weapon into energy. Now that she knew the method, she could experiment on her own later; there was no rush.

The sun at the edge of the sea had sunk another small fraction. Raiden Ei remembered she hadn't found dinner or a place to stay for the night, and darkness was coming soon.

No longer delaying, she found a flat spot nearby with large trees to block the sea breeze. The only problem was the lack of water; she had to go find some.

Raiden Ei planned to find water before it got dark and see if there were any small animals to catch for dinner. On the way, she made a bamboo tube for water and spotted a group of... chickens that looked like chickens but also didn't?

So, Raiden Ei used Elemental Power to attack them from a distance. Several were knocked down by lightning while the others fled quickly. These few were only numbed by the electricity, as she had not yet fully mastered her Elemental Power.

She picked up only one and continued searching for water; the others would recover in a while.

After finding a water source and filling the bamboo tube, Raiden Ei began preparing her dinner for tonight.

After a flurry of activity, Raiden Ei, having cleaned the ingredients, suddenly remembered that Raiden Ei from Genshin Impact was a kitchen disaster.

Would the Raiden Shogun, created with her as the blueprint, also be a kitchen disaster?

Raiden Ei felt a bit flustered and comforted herself, "It's okay, it's okay. Don't I have myself now? Before I transmigrated, I might not have been a master chef, but I was at least a decent hand in the kitchen!"

While giving herself a pep talk, Raiden Ei finished cleaning the ingredients and started walking back. She picked some wild fruit from the trees along the way. Although she was confident in herself, she still took basic precautions.

When Raiden Ei returned to the flat ground, the sun was already gone. The moon and stars had appeared in the sky, emitting a faint, shimmering glow.

She used Elemental Power to start a fire and prepared the ingredients according to her thoughts, but the result looked... strange.

Raiden Ei couldn't understand it. She had followed her own ideas, so why did it turn out like this? "It should be edible, right?"

Raiden Ei tried a bite and immediately spat it out. "The taste is so weird. Is it a problem with the chicken? I don't want to eat this at all. Luckily, I picked wild fruit, so I won't go hungry."

"Although I wasn't hungry before eating, in my memory, Raiden Ei still needs to eat, though I never noticed if she actually gets hungry."

Raiden Ei jumped onto a tree, sitting there eating wild fruit while watching the moon and stars.

She thought she would be afraid of the dark since she had just arrived in this world, but Raiden Ei found she had no sense of fear; instead, she felt quite at peace.

It made sense. Even facing darkness, lightning can shatter it, bringing a momentary light to the world. As a puppet created as the incarnation of thunder, she had no need to fear a mere night.

Thinking back on the day's experiences, it really was exciting. This single day was much more stimulating than her entire life before transmigrating.

Before transmigrating, she was just a child unloved by her father and mother. Her family had some money, but her parents remarried after their divorce. Once she became an adult, they gave her some money and sent her away, though that money was enough for her to live a carefree life for a decade or so.

As Raiden Ei thought, she began considering the future and sighed. The world of pirates was very chaotic. Although she didn't know the current timeline, any period was chaotic.

She hadn't seen any pirates yet, but she imagined it wouldn't be much better. Becoming stronger was the most important thing. With a system and having been reincarnated as the Raiden Shogun, she could surely become the strongest in this world where the strong are respected.

Raiden Ei's resolve hardened, and her mood became incredibly excited. Her blood seemed to boil, and her aura surged at this moment.

A powerful aura erupted from Raiden Ei's body, Swirling outward with her as the center. Most of the animals in the forest fainted, while some powerful beasts trembled in terror.

The aura lasted only a moment, but the island fell silent, with only the sound of the waves remaining.
