Chapter 8 - chapter 8

Asia – August 5, 1790

Inside a large research hall in the Dhuman scientific center of Asia, two scientists stood beside a wide metal table covered with diagrams and mechanical parts.

At the center of the table was a glowing model of an experimental device.

Xenia studied it with excitement.

"I believe this may become the greatest discovery in Dhuman history," she said quietly.

Foxi folded his arms and examined the design carefully.

"Traveling through timelines is extremely difficult," he replied. "Even our best scientists barely understand the structure of time itself."

He looked up at her.

"Where do you plan to test this experiment?"

Xenia paused for a moment before answering.

"Antarctica."

Foxi raised an eyebrow.

"Why there?"

"Because almost no one lives there," Xenia explained calmly. "If something goes wrong, fewer people will be in danger."

Foxi nodded slowly.

"That is... a reasonable choice."

Xenia smiled slightly.

"Then it's decided."

A few days later, they arrived at the Antarctic research center—a massive facility built by Dhuman engineers in the frozen southern continent.

Inside the main hall stood the machine itself.

It was enormous.

Several circular metal rings surrounded a glowing core of blue energy. Strange symbols and control panels covered the structure, and the air around it hummed with quiet power.

At the reception desk near the entrance, a Dhuman woman checked their identification.

After a moment, she handed Xenia a small metal access card.

"Your experiment has been approved," she said.

She pointed toward the machine.

"Scheduled test date: August 5, 1790."

Xenia accepted the card and slowly approached the device.

The machine vibrated softly as energy flowed through its core.

Foxi stood beside her.

"Are you absolutely sure about this?" he asked.

Xenia looked at the machine, her eyes reflecting the blue light.

Then she smiled with confidence.

"I'll see you soon."

The machine began to power up.

Lights flickered across the control panels.

For the first time in Dhuman history, an attempt to travel between timelines was about to begin.

To be continued…
