Chapter 7 - chapter 7

Early Modern Era

As the centuries passed, the Dhuman world gradually entered the Early Modern Period.

Their civilization had become powerful—not through war, but through knowledge, cooperation, and shared progress.

Dhuman societies placed great value on learning. Art, philosophy, and culture flourished across all their civilizations. Music filled public squares, paintings decorated city halls, and elegant architecture became symbols of peace and unity.

Crime was extremely rare in Dhuman society. Because their culture emphasized trust and loyalty, most conflicts were resolved through discussion and community councils rather than punishment.

Science advanced rapidly during this time.

Engineers constructed strong road systems that connected cities across entire continents. Food culture also developed, and Dhuman communities created many new types of meals and recipes enjoyed across the world.

Over the centuries, the Dhuman themselves had also changed slightly.

Most now stood around five feet tall, and many possessed small, lightweight wings growing from their backs. These wings did not allow true flight, but they allowed short gliding movements, making travel across cliffs and forests easier.

Their cities reflected their philosophy of harmony with nature.

Large settlements filled with gardens, flowing water, and green spaces spread across the continents. Dhuman architecture focused on living alongside nature rather than conquering it.

For thousands of years, the Dhuman believed their world consisted only of their known civilizations spread across continents such as Asia, Europe, Africa, North America, South America, and Australia.

But during this era, explorers made a discovery that surprised the entire Dhuman world.

Far to the south, beyond the icy oceans, they discovered a distant and mysterious land.

It was Antarctica.

At first the land was harsh and frozen, but Dhuman scientists and engineers quickly began transforming it into something new.

Within a few generations, a large scientific settlement had been built there, home to nearly one hundred thousand Dhuman.

Antarctica soon became the center of Dhuman scientific research.

One hundred of the greatest Dhuman scientists gathered on the continent to study the deepest mysteries of time, reality, and existence.

Their most ambitious project was something that had never been attempted before.

They wanted to develop technology capable of traveling through different timelines.

Some Dhuman believed this discovery could reveal the hidden history of their species.

Others warned that interfering with time itself could bring dangerous and unpredictable consequences.

Many believed such a project would take centuries to achieve.

But the scientists of Antarctica believed the breakthrough might arrive far sooner.

And if they were correct, the Dhuman world was about to uncover a truth that could change history forever.
