Chapter 14 - A Birthday she never had

Aaika was trying to think of a way to trap Arin…

…but nothing was working.

Her thoughts were scattered.

For the first time—

She wasn't thinking like a demon.

She was confused.

"Just stop overthinking," Wish said casually.

"I already told you—I have an idea."

Aaika looked at her.

"Fine. Say it."

Wish smiled.

"Remember the secret diary?"

Aaika nodded slowly.

"Write about him," Wish continued. "Good things. Deep feelings. Even if they're fake… make them feel real."

Aaika frowned.

"And what will that do?"

Wish shrugged.

"Don't ask. Just do it."

Aaika made the diary.

Page after page—

She wrote about Arin.

His kindness.

His smile.

The way he looked at her.

All lies.

…or at least, that's what she told herself.

Later, Wish added,

"Leave it on the table. And I'll tell you what to write on the last page."

Aaika agreed.

The trap was ready.

Two days later—

Arin planned something big.

With his friends.

A birthday party.

In Aaika's own garden.

But Aaika…

Spent her entire birthday in the demon realm.

She waited.

Somewhere deep inside—

She wanted just one thing.

A simple wish from her father.

Time passed.

The whole day.

Nothing.

Just when she was about to leave—

Rambh appeared.

"Oh… it's your birthday today," he said.

"Happy birthday, my daughter. I forgot."

Aaika just nodded.

"Hmm."

No smile.

No emotion.

And she walked away.

For the first time—

That hurt.

More than she expected.

When she reached Earth, it was already night.

Wish appeared beside her.

"I want ice cream," she said.

Aaika didn't argue.

Wish was the only one who stayed.

They were near her house—

When suddenly—

A group of men grabbed Aaika.

Before she could react—

She was pushed into a car.

Blindfolded.

Taken somewhere unknown.

She could have escaped easily.

But she didn't.

Because—

She already knew.

The car stopped.

The blindfold was removed.

And suddenly—

"Happy Birthday, Aaika! 🎉"

Lights.

Decorations.

Familiar faces.

And in front of her—

Arin.

Aaika stood still.

For a moment—

She forgot everything.

The plan.

The mission.

Even herself.

She already knew it was Arin.

Wish had told her.

But still—

Seeing all this…

felt different.

No one had ever done this for her.

Not like this.

Not with this much effort.

Not with this much… care.

"Hey… what happened?" Arin said softly.

"Why are you so quiet?"

Aaika blinked.

"No… nothing," she said.

"I was just looking at the decorations… they're beautiful. Thank you, Arin."

Arin smiled lightly.

The celebration began.

Music.

Laughter.

Voices.

Aaika laughed too.

Freely.

Genuinely.

Maybe for the first time in years.

In the world she came from—

There were only rules.

Training.

Control.

No real happiness.

No softness.

But tonight—

Was different.

They played games.

One of them—

A bottle game.

Whoever the bottle pointed at—

Had to dance.

The bottle spun.

Everyone watched.

Laughing.

Teasing.

And slowly—

It stopped.

Right between—

Aaika and Arin.

The crowd cheered loudly.

"Dance! Dance! Dance!"

Aaika froze for a second.

Then looked at Arin.

He smiled.

And extended his hand.

For a moment—

She hesitated.

Inside her mind—

Two voices clashed.

This is part of the plan.

No… this feels real.

Then—

She placed her hand in his.

And they stepped forward.

Under soft lights.

With music in the air.

They started to move.

Slowly.

Naturally.

And for that moment—

Aaika wasn't a demon.

Not a weapon.

Not a trap.

Just…

A girl.

Living a moment she never had.

But somewhere—

Hidden on that table—

The diary waited.

And with it—

A truth that could destroy everything.

To be continued…
