Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 – Forsaken Future

Sunny groaned, feeling slight pain. Something was poking at the back of Ananke's mantle. Feeling tired and sluggish, he saw a few pieces of jagged pieces of concrete that were responsible.

He stretched his hand, pushing them away.

The concrete pieces were thrown away easily, and Sunny glanced around the impromptu cave that he had accidentally created after he was shunted out of the 3 rd nightmare. Clenching his fist, he felt all the power of a Saint.

Sadly, he felt incredibly weak. But that didn't dampen his mood, instead he felt elated. He had returned to the past and in such a shocking way as well. Sunny's mood couldn't have been better. Here, everyone was alive.

Looking around, Sunny noticed all of his shadows looking at him with varied expressions.

It's been a while since Sunny thought of it. He hadn't really spoken much to his invaluable helpers ever since he became a Supreme. He was always inhabiting a body, so it took two incarnations for Sunny to speak with his shadows, and even then, Sunny just spoke to himself like a madman.

He activated his transformation ability and looked at them. Gloomy, Crazy, Happy, Creepy, Haughty, and Naughty shadows were all here. Their youngest brother, Lazy, had not been born yet in the Shadow Realm.

Sighing in relief, Sunny attempted to open up his handy bracelet but realized he hadn't created it.

"This is going to take some getting used to."

Sunny couldn't really tell if his shadows also remembered the past since they were a part of him, but it seemed like they might. They were tied to his soul.

"Alright, I hope you guys are ready to do some work because we have a lot to get done."

Happy obviously seemed excited to get started, no matter the task.

Dismissing his shadow transformation ability, Sunny wrapped all of his shadows around himself. Feeling all the power of Transcendent Terror, he couldn't help but lament.

His mind felt less sharp, his will felt weaker, his shadow sense was more limiting, his essence felt like it had a very real limit, and it no longer felt like he could stream a myriad of thoughts in his head.

No doubt because he hadn't collected Weaver's lineage and because he was no longer a Supreme.

It felt like he was trying to fit into clothes that were much smaller than him. He didn't know if he could ever get used to such a feeling. Being a demigod sure had its perks.

Sunny wiped his face of all the grime and dirt. Summoning [Weaver's Mask] he used shadow sense to take in the world around him. His breath caught when he noticed Nephis not that far away.

No doubt she was getting used to her newfound power, but in a moment, she would realize Cassie was buried underneath the rubble and would start digging her out.

Sunny wanted to speak to her badly, both her and Cassie, but not now. He couldn't interact with Nephis here this time around.

Inside this makeshift grave, Sunny had regressed, no, it was better to say he was reborn. He was technically dead when he became a Supreme, but now, he was alive.

The future Sunny had experienced was harrowing and wrong. This time around, he would be ready and wouldn't be caught unexpectedly.

Sunny stepped into the shadows and then rose hundreds of meters away on a hill, looking at the siege capital. The King of Swords' dream gate was evacuating civilians out of the capital. The sky was grey, filled with his swords.

Seeing someone he had once slain alive felt wrong. Sunny could feel the hatred he had for Anvil, but it had mostly dissipated when he took his head off. Now, while he did hate the unfeeling bastard, his anger was not really directed too much at him

Surprisingly, killing someone does wonders to stop despising someone. He even made his shades plenty of armor.

Chuckling lightly, Sunny turned his gaze away from the siege capital and looked towards Falcon Scott.

Although he could not see it, it was his next destination. The Winter Beast was not someone he was going to let off. In fact, he was going to kill it even faster than he did last time.

Sunny would hold off on becoming a Supreme immediately. He wanted to acquire his seventh core, and then he would immediately become Supreme.

Feeling the cold weather for the first time in a while, Sunny took a deep icy breath. His Supreme Body had naturally never felt too cold or hot. Even now, Sunny felt a pang hungriness and a bit tired.

Closing his eyes, Sunny took it all in.

After opening his eyes, there was a determination to see through things and not let them get as bad as they were before.

The start of his plan was starting to take form in his mind. He had around four and a half years before they would arrive. Before then, Sunny had to be prepared. Even now, he wondered if he could stop them.

But that wasn't the intention, as long as he could kill that one bastard, then they would have a chance with the others.

Snapping out of his reverie before he let his hatred consume him as it did in the future, Sunny briefly went back into the shadows and manifested himself as a giant butterfly with six long legs.

Flying towards the ruins of Falcon Scott, Sunny would avenge his soldiers once more. Thinking back to Samara, Belle, and Dorne, who had all perished when the Winter Beast came to destroy Falcon Scott.

Sunny's mood was dampened as he thought of their shadows walking around the shadow realm. Sunny had realized that day he didn't need conviction as he buried his friends.

He didn't want to bury anyone else.

To do that, he had to stop them. The people who were his enemies were actually inhabitants of another realm. As it turned out, the people from the last realm were not actually annihilated.

They had given up on their world when they realized they wouldn't be able to defeat the Nightmare Spell in time.

It made sense, really. Sunny had always wondered why the Dream Realm was so barren. There should have been at least one or two cowards who would hide away while their world faced destruction.

They were gone for a while, frozen in time while the nightmare spell invaded the War Realm.

Sunny didn't know the specifics, but he did know that with this realm came nine new Supremes, and three of them were wielders of the divine aspects as well. They also had one being that was sacred.

That person had been the cornerstone. Driving Sunny nearly everyone else out of the Dream Realm, but this time, he would be ready, and he wouldn't be caught on the backfoot.
