The Long Road to Freedom
The British respond with force, and many are arrested, including Anirudha. In the cold, dark cell of a colonial prison, he meets others who have sacrificed everything. But he isn't broken. He remembers the nod Gandhi gave him and the weight of the satchel in his hand.
Years pass, and the struggle continues until finally, the sun sets on the British Empire. Anirudha walks out of the prison gates as a free man in a free India. He looks at the Hooghly River, still flowing silently, and realizes that while names might be forgotten, the spirit of 1942 lives on in every breath of the nation.
