Corin fell silent.
Instead, one of the men behind him answered:
"Here's the deal. We saved Corin's life, so he's with us now."
"With you?
And who are you?"
Silas Crowley asked.
"We're the good guys, of course. I'm Ethan Cole. A pleasure to meet you, eh?
Corin, aren't you going to invite your old friends over to our place for a visit?"
Ethan Cole sized up the people getting out of the car, his initial apprehension easing.
There were less than ten of them, and aside from the tall, sturdy man with a cat on his shoulder, the rest looked like a stiff breeze could knock them over.
"We'll pass on the visit. Corin, we're heading back to the base. Are you coming with us?"
Tobin asked.
"I..."
Corin hesitated.
"That's right, Corin! I knew you were still alive! We'll take you back with us."
Rhonda Rowan added, her face full of hope.
"Go back? You've made it this far, and you really think you can just turn around and leave?"
