Chapter 28 - NEW HOME

Few days passed

The palace was silent that night.

Not the silence of loneliness—

But the soft, peaceful quiet that comes after a long day filled with laughter, love, and celebration.

Sun stood on the balcony, looking at the distant lights of the kingdom.

Everything was calm.

Everything was perfect.

And yet—

He felt something strange.

Not wrong.

Just… unfinished.

Behind him, soft footsteps approached.

Then—

Arms wrapped gently around his waist.

Yuki.

She rested her head against his back.

"What are you thinking about, kitty?"

He smiled faintly.

"…Nothing."

"Liar."

He turned slightly.

"…Just wondering how long this peace will last."

She tightened her hold slightly.

"Then let's make it last forever."

He looked at her.

She stepped in front of him now, her hands still holding his.

"…Sun."

Her voice was soft.

But serious.

"I want something."

He raised an eyebrow.

"That sounds dangerous."

She pouted.

"Listen first."

He nodded.

"Alright."

She took a small breath.

"I don't want to live here anymore."

He blinked.

"…What?"

She smiled gently.

"Not because I don't like it."

She looked around the palace.

"It's beautiful… grand… everything feels like a dream."

Then she looked back at him.

"But I don't want a dream."

"I want… peace."

Silence.

The wind moved softly around them.

She continued—

"I want a place where it's just us."

"No soldiers."

"No responsibilities."

"No one calling you 'Your Majesty' every five minutes."

He chuckled slightly.

"…That part sounds nice."

She smiled wider.

"I want mornings where we wake up together without any noise."

"I want days where we can just walk, laugh, and do nothing important."

"I want nights where we sit under the sky… and just talk."

She stepped closer.

"…I want a simple life."

Her voice softened even more.

"With you."

Sun looked at her quietly.

Her eyes—

Clear.

Honest.

Full of longing.

And love.

He didn't hesitate.

"…Alright."

Her eyes widened.

"…That was fast."

He shrugged lightly.

"You said it's with me."

She stared at him for a second.

Then suddenly hugged him tightly.

"You're the best!"

He laughed softly.

"I know."

---

The next morning—

Sun called Ard.

Ard entered the room, slightly confused.

"You called for me?"

Sun nodded.

"I need a house built."

Ard blinked.

"…A house?"

Yuki stepped forward excitedly.

"Yes!"

"Not a palace."

"Not something huge and royal."

"Just a house."

Ard crossed his arms.

"…Where?"

Sun replied calmly—

"Near Moonlight Forest."

Ard's eyes narrowed slightly.

"That place is far from the capital."

"That's the point."

Silence.

Ard sighed.

"…You're serious."

Sun nodded.

"Build it."

"Two floors."

"Enough space."

"Peaceful surroundings."

Yuki added happily—

"And beautiful scenery!"

Ard looked at both of them.

Then shook his head with a small smile.

"…Only you two would leave a palace for a forest house."

Sun smirked.

"We're special."

"…You're strange."

"Same thing."

Ard sighed again.

"…Fine."

---

A few days later—

It was ready.

Sun and Yuki stood in front of it.

And for a moment—

Yuki said nothing.

Her eyes widened slowly.

"…This…"

The house stood peacefully at the edge of Moonlight Forest.

Two floors.

Warm wooden structure.

Large windows.

A small balcony.

Surrounded by nature.

Behind it—

A calm lake reflected the sky.

On one side—

A vast green plain stretched endlessly.

On the other—

Tall mountains stood quietly in the distance.

And the forest—

Soft.

Mysterious.

Beautiful.

Yuki took a slow step forward.

"…This is ours?"

Sun nodded.

"…Yeah."

She looked at everything again.

Then—

Ran toward the house.

Sun sighed.

"…Here we go."

Yuki opened the door—

And immediately ran inside.

"Sun! Come fast!"

"I'm coming!"

She moved from room to room like an excited child.

"This is the living room!"

"And this—oh—kitchen!"

"And—wait—upstairs!"

She ran up the stairs.

Sun followed slowly.

"You're going to fall."

"I won't!"

She almost slipped.

"…Okay maybe a little."

He caught her just in time.

"…Careful."

She looked at him.

Then smiled.

"…Thanks."

For a moment—

They just stood there.

Then she laughed again.

"Let's keep exploring!"

---

Sun asked ard to manage all the kingdom's affairs on his behalf.

After Ard left—

It was just them.

No guards.

No servants.

No noise.

Only nature.

And each other.

The first morning—

Sun woke up slowly.

Soft sunlight entered through the window.

And beside him—

Yuki.

Sleeping peacefully.

Her hair spread across the pillow.

Her breathing calm.

He watched her quietly.

"…This is nice."

She moved slightly.

Then opened her eyes.

"…Why are you staring again?"

He smiled.

"Habit."

She stretched slightly.

"…Good morning."

"Good morning."

She moved closer.

Resting her head on his chest.

"…I like this life."

He wrapped his arm around her.

"…Me too."

---

One day—

Sun stood outside, looking at the empty land near the house.

Yuki came up behind him.

"What are you thinking now?"

"…I want to build a farm."

She blinked.

"…A farm?"

He nodded.

"Yeah."

She stared at him.

"…You're the king of a kingdom."

"And?"

"You want to grow vegetables?"

"…Yes."

She looked at him for a few seconds.

Then—

Burst into laughter.

"You're unbelievable!"

He crossed his arms.

"It's peaceful."

She wiped her tears.

"…Fine."

"Let's do it."

---

The next few days—

Were chaos.

Sun tried to work seriously.

Yuki—

Not so much.

"This is hard," she complained while holding a tool incorrectly.

"You're holding it upside down."

"…Oh."

She flipped it.

"Better?"

"…Slightly."

At one point—

She threw dirt at him.

"Oops."

"…You did that on purpose."

"Maybe."

He threw dirt back.

And just like that—

A farming session turned into a dirt fight.

They laughed endlessly.

Chasing each other.

Falling.

Getting completely dirty.

At the end—

They lay on the grass.

Breathing heavily.

Laughing.

"…We're terrible farmers," Yuki said.

"…Yeah."

"But it's fun."

"…It is."

Every evening—

They went to the lake.

Sometimes sitting quietly.

Sometimes talking.

Sometimes doing nothing at all.

One evening—

Yuki dipped her feet into the water.

"It's peaceful."

Sun sat beside her.

"…This is what you wanted, right?"

She nodded.

"…Yes."

Then looked at him.

"…And you?"

He smiled softly.

"…This is enough for me."

She leaned against him.

"…Good."

---

Days turned into weeks.

Weeks into months.

No battles.

No enemies.

No chaos.

Just—

A simple life.

Filled with small moments.

Cooking together.

Arguing over nothing.

Laughing at everything.

One night—

They sat outside under the stars.

Yuki looked up.

"…It's beautiful."

Sun looked at her.

"…Yeah."

She noticed.

"…Don't say that while looking at me."

"…I can't help it."

She blushed.

"Shut up."

He smiled.

"…Never."

---

One quiet night—

They sat on the balcony.

The forest glowing softly under moonlight.

Yuki rested her head on his shoulder.

"…Sun?"

"Hmm?"

"…Do you ever regret leaving the palace?"

He shook his head.

"…Not even once."

She smiled.

"…Me neither."

She held his hand.

"…This is enough."

He squeezed her hand gently.

"…More than enough."

Silence.

Peace.

Love.

And under the quiet sky—

Far from the world—

They lived.

Not as king and queen.

But as two people—

Who chose each other.

Again.

And again.

Every single day.
