Chapter 36 - From Janitor to King of Luck

Dayal Karmakar was cleaning the floor of the tallest building in the city, the 'Golden Star Tower.' Nobody looked at him. Dayal was a 25-year-old man wearing an old blue janitor uniform. He had a broom in one hand and a bucket in the other.

His life was always full of bad luck. He lost his parents when he was a child and never had the chance to study. Now, he was just trying to survive in this big city. He had only ten rupees in his pocket—not even enough to buy a packet of biscuits.

Suddenly, the sky changed. A huge bolt of lightning hit the top of the tower. While Dayal was cleaning a window, a strange blue light hit his forehead.

He screamed in pain and fell to the ground. Thousands of codes and words appeared before his eyes.

[Congratulations! You have been chosen as the host of the 'God-Level Luck System'.]

Dayal rubbed his eyes. He thought he was dreaming because he was hungry. But a mechanical voice spoke clearly in his mind.

"Host, your current Luck Points: 0. As a bonus, you get 1 'Golden Draw'."

Dayal thought, "System? Golden Draw? What is happening?" He whispered, "Okay, if this is real, then draw."

Immediately, a golden wheel started spinning and stopped on a glowing icon.

[Congratulations! You received: 'Golden Eye of Fortune'.]

[Ability: You can now see the hidden value of any object and its future potential.]

Dayal stood up. His body felt light. He looked at a pile of trash near the corridor. To his surprise, he saw a bright green light coming from an old black stone inside the trash.

He picked up the stone. The system text appeared:

[Object: Rare Emerald]

[Condition: Covered in dust]

[Value: 5,000,000 Rupees]

Dayal's hands started shaking. Five million! A man who doesn't even earn two hundred rupees a day now held a fortune. He quickly hid the stone in his pocket.

Just then, the owner of the building, Mr. Singhania, was walking by. He looked very worried. He was talking on the phone, "Where is my lucky ring? I cannot sign today's big deal without it!"

Dayal realized this stone belonged to Mr. Singhania's ring. He could have kept it and become rich, but he was an honest man. Also, he trusted the system. If he had "God-Level Luck," something bigger was waiting for him.

He stepped forward and said, "Sir, is this the stone from your ring?"

Mr. Singhania stopped. His bodyguards tried to push Dayal away, but he signaled them to stop. He took the stone and his eyes went wide. "Yes! This is it! Where did you find it?"

"I found it in the trash while cleaning, sir," Dayal said calmly.

Mr. Singhania was very happy. "Young man, you don't know how much you helped me! Today's deal is the biggest challenge of my life. Tell me, what do you want?"

Dayal smiled. "I just want to do my job, sir."

Mr. Singhania took out a visiting card. "No, from today, you are not a janitor. Come to my head office tomorrow morning. I am hiring you as my Personal Assistant. And take this as a reward..."

He wrote a check for One Million Rupees and gave it to Dayal.

Dayal stood still, shocked. Five minutes ago, he was worried about dinner, and now he was a millionaire!

[System Alert!]

[You showed honesty. Reward: +100 Luck Points.]

[Only 400 more Luck Points needed to unlock the next level.]

That night, when Dayal returned to his small, broken house, his whole world had changed. He realized this was just the beginning. The 'God-Level Luck System' would turn a simple janitor into the most powerful man in the world.

The next morning, on his way to the office, he saw a crowd at a lottery shop. The system activated again.

[Scanning Lottery Tickets...]

[Ticket Number 4209: 100% chance of winning.]

[Prize: 10 Million Rupees]

Dayal touched the ten-rupee note in his pocket. He smiled. With the system, he was no longer a slave to fate. Fate was now in his hands.

He went to the counter and said, "Brother, give me ticket number 4209."

The seller said, "Nobody wanted this ticket. If you are lucky, maybe you will win."

Dayal thought to himself, "My luck only listens to me now."
