Chapter 34 - The Reborn Janitor: God-Level Luck System

The Last Mop

The hospital floor was cold and dirty. For thirty years, Sam had mopped these same floors. He was a janitor, a man no one noticed. Doctors walked past him without a word. Patients didn't even look at him.

Sam was sixty years old. His back hurt, and his hands were rough. He had no money, no family, and no future.

"I wish I could start over," Sam whispered to himself. "I wish I wasn't just a loser."

Suddenly, the ground shook. A massive explosion hit the hospital. A gas leak! The walls began to crumble. Sam saw a small child trapped under a fallen pillar. Without thinking, he ran toward the child. He pushed the boy away just as the ceiling collapsed on top of him.

Everything went dark.

[Ding! Heroic sacrifice detected.]

Chapter 2: The Rebirth

Sam opened his eyes. He wasn't in a hospital anymore. He was lying on a small, hard bed in a tiny room. He looked at his hands. They weren't wrinkled or rough. They were young!

He ran to a broken mirror on the wall. He saw a young man, maybe nineteen years old.

"Is this... me?" Sam gasped.

Suddenly, a blue transparent screen appeared in front of his eyes.

Status Screen

Name: Sam

Age: 19

Occupation: Junior Janitor (Star-Light Academy)

Level: 1

Luck Stat: SSS (Infinite)

Current Perk: Golden Touch (Passive) – Everything you do has a chance to trigger a massive reward.

Sam was shocked. He had been reborn! And he was still a janitor, but this time, he was at the famous Star-Light Academy—a place where elite warriors and mages trained.

Chapter 3: The First Sweep

Sam had to go to work. Even with a "System," he was still a janitor at the academy. He picked up an old, rusty broom and went to the main training hall.

The floor was covered in dust and "Mana Scraps"—leftover energy from the students' training. Usually, these scraps were useless trash.

[Ding! You are sweeping the floor. Luck trigger!]

As Sam swept a pile of dust, he felt something hard. He looked down. In the middle of the trash was a glowing blue crystal.

"Wait, is this a Low-Grade Mana Stone?" Sam wondered. These were worth a month's salary!

[Ding! SSS-Luck activated! The Mana Stone has evolved into a 'Divine Dragon Core'!]

The blue stone turned into a bright gold diamond. Sam quickly hid it in his pocket. His heart was racing. In his past life, he would find old gum and coins. In this life, he found treasures in the trash.

Just then, a group of arrogant students walked in. They were led by a tall boy named Kevin.

"Hey, trash-boy!" Kevin laughed, kicking Sam's bucket over. Water spilled everywhere. "Clean that up faster. You're blocking my way."

In his old life, Sam would have bowed his head and said sorry. But now, he felt a strange power in his veins.

[Ding! New Quest: The Clean Revenge.]

[Objective: Make the bully slip. Reward: Level Up + New Skill.]

Sam didn't say anything. He just mopped the floor where Kevin was standing. But with his God-Level Luck, he missed a tiny spot of oil on purpose.

Kevin turned to walk away, but his foot hit the oil. He didn't just slip; he did a double flip and landed face-first in the dirty water bucket.

SPLAT!

The whole hall went silent. Then, everyone started laughing.

[Quest Completed!]

[Reward: You have leveled up to Level 2!]

[New Skill Acquired: 'Trash to Treasure' – You can find rare items in any garbage pile.]

Sam smiled and picked up his bucket. "Sorry, Master Kevin. The floor is very slippery today."
