The Singhania Tower was the tallest building in the city. On the 50th floor, Jharu Bala was mopping the floor. He wore a simple blue janitor uniform. To the world, he was just a cleaner. But he had a secret.
For six months, Jharu had been in a secret relationship with Meera Singhania, the beautiful and cold CEO of the company. He thought she loved him for his heart.
But today, everything changed.
Meera sat at her large desk. She did not look at him. "It is over, Jharu," she said coldly. "I am getting engaged to Siddharth Malhotra tomorrow. He is a billionaire. You are... just a janitor."
Jharu dropped his mop. "But Meera, you said money didn't matter! You said you liked my simple soul."
Meera laughed cruelly. "That was a mistake. A moment of boredom. A janitor cannot stand beside a CEO. People will laugh at me. Look at your clothes, Jharu. You smell like floor cleaner."
She threw a check on the table. It was for 1 Crore Rupees.
"Take this money and leave," Meera said. "Resign today. Never show your face in this building again. I don't want my future husband to know I ever talked to someone like you."
Jharu's heart broke into a thousand pieces. He felt insulted and small. But then, he looked at the check and then at Meera. He did not touch the money.
"You can buy a building with money, Meera, but you cannot buy luck," Jharu said quietly. He took off his ID card and placed it on the table. "One day, you will realize that you didn't throw away a janitor. You threw away your greatest treasure."
He walked out of the office with empty pockets but a burning fire in his heart.
