Alaric Davenport picked Kael Davenport up and gently placed him on the bed. Seeing he hadn't woken up, Alaric shared another intimate moment with Rosalind, then had breakfast with her before seeing her off to work.
Returning to the room, he found Kael just waking up. The boy looked around with dazed confusion, likely because he'd woken up alone.
Then, his expression went blank.
Alaric knew what his son was thinking with a single glance and chuckled to himself. He felt like he was looking in a mirror; he had been just like that back in the day.
He said, "She held you all night. Her arm went numb."
Kael looked at him.
"She went to work. Finish your breakfast. After your check-up, if the doctor gives the okay, I'll take you two to visit her on set."
Though Kael appeared stoic, the joy in his eyes was unmistakable.
Seeing him hurriedly wolfing down his food, Alaric shook his head with a helpless smile. "Don't rush. I promise I'll take you."
