Alaric Davenport had wanted to fish for a compliment, but seeing her act this way, he could only play along. He nodded, a barely-there smile touching his lips. "Alright."
Rosalind Lowell glanced around but didn't see the children. 'Didn't he say he was bringing the kids?'
"Mr. Davenport, are you also here to visit the set today?" the director asked, squeezing his way to the front.
Alaric Davenport simply gave a slight nod. "Your set has quite a motley crew."
The director could only force a smile and nod. "Yes, yes, of course. Right this way, please."
Rosalind Lowell hadn't expected Alaric Davenport to come in person. 'Does he have nothing better to do than supervise me at work?'
She had assumed he would just have the butler bring the two children. That way, she could pass them off as relatives' kids. 'Great,' she thought. 'Now I'll have to find a way to sneak off and see them.'
Faye Lowell had no choice but to drop it and wait for the director to call for the cameras to roll.
