"Of course there is," she said, smiling when she saw Alaric Davenport's surprised look. "If you ever decide you don't want me, I'm afraid no one else will be able to stand how spoiled I've become."
Alaric Davenport put on a deliberately troubled expression.
"What is it?"
"Well then, before I die, I'll have to think about whether to train our son to take over or just hire someone reliable for you."

Rosalind Lowell woke up to her phone screen lighting up as it rang.
She shifted to pick up her phone, accustomed to waking up and finding Alaric Davenport already gone.
"Hello?"
'I wonder what Michael is calling about so early in the morning.'
"Miss Rosalind, you're awake, I assume?"
Rosalind Lowell yawned. "Did you install a surveillance camera in my house?"
"Maybe," Michael chuckled.
