"After all, the only role you know how to play is your own miserable life. Wear that mask long enough, and it becomes your real face."
Faye Lowell glared at her, looking like she wanted to eat her alive, and raised her hand to strike.
Rosalind Lowell knew all too well what that look meant. The memory was deeply ingrained after so many years. She deftly dodged the blow and caught Faye's wrist.
"Don't forget. This slap, and all the ones before it… I'll be paying you back for every single one."
Faye Lowell's eyes widened in disbelief. She clearly hadn't expected such a drastic change in Rosalind. "I'm telling Mom and Dad!"
"Even if you don't, I'll tell them myself. Some things need to be settled, once and for all."
With that, she coolly flung Faye's hand away. Then, with a gentle smile, she announced loudly, "Miss Lowell, if you want to have an acting competition, you'd better hurry up and get your makeup done. The entire cast and crew are waiting for you."
