As she parted ways with the director and walked out the door, she nearly bumped into a man. He was dressed casually, wearing a baseball cap that revealed a glimpse of his tanned face.
The man asked softly, "Are you okay?"
Rosalind Lowell shook her head.
The man gave a slight nod and walked away.
She had just gotten home when she got a call from the director. "Director Carter, what is it?"
"Miss Lowell… um…"
"It's alright, Director Carter. Please, just tell me what's on your mind."
"Er, the head director just called. He said they've replaced the female lead. Miss Lowell, how would you feel about… the second female lead role?" Director Carter sounded embarrassed even as he said it.
Rosalind Lowell knew things like this happened all the time in the entertainment industry. 'I've learned to take it in stride.' "It's alright. Do you mind if I ask who the female lead is now?"
"She has the same last name as you, actually. Winnie Lowell."
