"It's not that serious, is it?"
Rosalind Lowell's head snapped up. "How did you know?"
Jessica Sutton realized she'd misspoken and quickly corrected herself. "I saw it."
Afraid her explanation wasn't convincing enough, she added, "One of them hit my foot back then. It really hurt."
"Sir, Madam, Miss Ainsworth has arrived."
Elsa Ainsworth was a little surprised to see Jessica Sutton and the others there as well.
Seeing Elsa Ainsworth had arrived, Rosalind Lowell felt it was a bad time to continue the previous conversation. "Sherry."
Elsa Ainsworth greeted everyone one by one, then sat down next to Rosalind Lowell. "Wow, you two are so sweet. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I never would have imagined the stone-faced Mr. Davenport could be so gentle."
"Mm, I'm only gentle with her. No one else gets to see it." Before Rosalind could reply, he answered for himself.
Elsa Ainsworth's face blossomed into a doting smile. In stark contrast was Jessica Sutton.
