Rosalind Lowell looked to Alaric Davenport, truly hoping he had a solution.
"Usually, this kind of thing blows over after being shelved for a while. If she works hard, tries to reinvent herself, and gets the audience to focus on her other good qualities instead of just her looks, things will get better."
Alaric Davenport's assessment was spot-on. Rosalind thought so too. If Faye Lowell refused to see reason, no one would be able to save her.
"Are you staying for dinner?"
Alaric Davenport shook his head, much to her relief. "Thank you, Father, but we have other arrangements."
Without waiting for Herman Lowell to nod, he led her away.
Rosalind let out a sigh of relief once they were out the door. "I really didn't expect this to happen. I'm sorry for causing you so much trouble."
Alaric Davenport got into the car with her. He gripped the steering wheel and looked at her. "It was intentional."
