Chapter 38 - The Bronze Awakening

The sun was setting over the village of Dariyapur, casting a golden glow over the dusty streets. While other young men were out playing or resting, eighteen-year-old Samrat sat inside his small, smoky workshop. His hands were covered in black soot and clay.

In front of him lay a small, unfinished figure of a warrior. Samrat was a Dokra artisan, just like his father and grandfather. But in this world, traditional art was dying. People wanted magic items, not handmade brass sculptures.

"If only I had the power to change this," Samrat whispered, wiping sweat from his forehead.

Suddenly, a strange sound echoed in his head.

[DING!]

[System Initialization... 100% Complete.]

[Welcome, Host Samrat, to the Bronze God's System!]

Samrat jumped back, nearly knocking over his pot of molten brass. "Who's there?" he shouted, looking around the empty room.

A glowing blue screen floated in the air before his eyes.

[Current Status:]

Host: Samrat

Level: 1 (Apprentice Artisan)

Job: Heir of the Bronze God

Strength: 5 | Agility: 4 | Stamina: 6

Crafting Skill: Level 1 (Basic Dokra Casting)

"A System?" Samrat gasped. He had heard stories of heroes in the capital who awakened 'Systems' to become powerful warriors or mages. But a crafting system? This was unheard of.

[New Mission: Create your first 'System-Enhanced' item.]

[Requirement: Cast a Bronze Dagger using the Lost-Wax method.]

[Reward: 100 Exp, +1 Strength, Unlock Skill: 'Eyes of Evaluation'.]

Samrat's heart raced. He didn't waste a second. He took a piece of beeswax and began to mold the shape of a dagger. Usually, this would take him hours of careful work, but now, he felt a strange energy flowing from his fingertips into the wax. The wax felt like soft butter, obeying his every thought.

He wrapped the wax model in layers of fine clay mixed with rice husks. This was the secret of Dokra—the mold had to be perfect.

[Warning: Temperature too low for optimal casting.]

The System's voice guided him. Samrat pumped the bellows of his furnace harder. The charcoal glowed a fierce orange. He placed the brass scraps into the crucible. As the metal melted into a glowing liquid, Samrat felt a connection to the fire itself.

"Now!" he cried out.

He poured the liquid brass into the clay mold. The sound of the metal hissing against the earth filled the room. After a few minutes of cooling, he took his hammer and gently broke the clay shell.

Instead of a dull, rough piece of metal, a brilliant, bronze dagger emerged. It didn't look like ordinary brass; it had a faint, metallic blue shimmer along the edge.

[Mission Complete!]

As Samrat held the dagger, his vision shifted. Suddenly, he could see small glowing lines on the weapon. He looked at his old tools, and data appeared over them: [Old Hammer: Low Quality, 10% chance of breaking].

"This is incredible," Samrat said, his voice trembling with excitement. "With this system, I won't just be an artisan. I will be the greatest crafter the world has ever seen."

But his moment of peace was broken. A loud bang hit his workshop door.

"Samrat! Open up!" a rough voice shouted from outside. It was the village debt collector, a man who worked for the local landlord. "Your family owes the tax. If you don't pay in gold, we are taking this workshop tonight!"

Samrat looked at the glowing bronze dagger in his hand. He wasn't the weak boy from yesterday anymore. The Bronze God had awakened.
