" Marshall, pull a chair out for our guest" Solomon ordered, causing Marshall to jolt in attention.
A strict nod led to him stepping forward and sliding out a chair that sat empty on the far end across from the head elder. Stepping back as the woman gracefully sat down in the tall wooden chair, he inhaled sharply at how oddly nice she smelled.
Taking his seat again he adjusts his voice and grabs the attention from the elders, breaking their stares on the woman.
" Friends, we all know what our main goal is and what our founders wanted of this organization, that woman right here is going to help us find a way to complete that goal." Whispers buzz a moment before Solomon halts it.
" Thanks to our brother Marshall, we have finally found the vampire kings weakness. With this we can finally put an end to the countless wars we have gone through against him." He finishes ready to hear the opinions of others.
The first to stand was elder Raffael, his greying black hair shimmering with the ceiling lights. " I disagree that this creature should be treated as a guest, how do we expect the sister of the most difficult being in the world to side with the enemy." More whispers floods the room.
" We should be experimenting on her, using her to find his weakness, not coddle her until she may or may not help us. She already stated that she didn't want to help, I was there myself" he concluded as he glared daggers at her.
Solomon silenced the whispering so the next person could speak.
" I agree with elder Raffaele, we don't know if she would truly help us, we can't risk the lives of our people for a small chance." A balding elder spoke up with his gruff voice. " I believe we should at least use her to test what could possibly kill him, they must be similar in that way."
" Are you really suggesting that instead of working with her, we torture the poor creature instead?" An old woman's voice spoke up from one side of the table.
" Creature, would you be willing to work with us instead of being a prisoner whose tortured?" The white haired old woman smiled at Athanasia.
The options were not really in her favor either way, as she had already said that she wanted nothing to do with that man.
" we need you Athanasia, even if you have a problematic past with him, we need you to protect the peace of our world and others." Solomon spoke up before any others could interrupt.
Marshall sat near the young looking woman, he had his eyes on her elegant profile, wondering if they could really trust her. Every war he had been in against that vampire king, was only full of blood shed and no mercy for the weak or weak hearted.
The woman finally adjusted her throat as all eyes in the room paused, waiting on her words.
" As that man has said, I did say I'd rather not have anything more to do with that creature you call a king. I spent centuries with that man, where you have only spend hours or days, he is much worse then you can even imagine." Her words foreboding.
" However, since I am no longer in hiding and he has now tampered with the borders between our worlds. It is harder for me to turn my back on your people. I had lived amongst humans for a long time before entering that coffin and I couldn't bare to let their children's children suffer. "
Her words began a low roar of objections from the two elders who protested against her as the older woman and another elder began to argue with them. Solomon held up his hand, signaling for peace amongst allies.
" Athanasia, I will ask you again, in front of the six council members of our organization, will you help us keep the peace between our worlds or will you let him destroy everything". Solomon said as he held eye contact with the small demi god.
The woman's ice blue eyes hold his gaze as she thinks over her options.
" Fine, I will help as long as i can" she sighed and crossed her arms over her chest. Marshall froze, a bit of surprise running through his mind, but he didn't trust her words alone.
" How are we supposed to believe that? What proof do you have that you are not on that maniacs side?" Raffaele grumpily asks while glaring at her.
The woman sat up taller, she really preferred politeness over anything else and this was urking her.
" How have you tried to kill Lucius in the past?" Was all she asked, looking at the faces of the table.
Solomon motions for marshall to answer the question.
The burly man sits forward for a moment, " We have tried, beheading, dismembering, drowning, holy water, stake through the heart, and being set on fire amongst the usual war tactics." The list made the woman chuckle.
" So you stuck to the basics of what you know and tried everything is what I am basically hearing. Well so have i" she says catching the curiosity of the group. " I myself have tried numerous ways to die but none have succeeded." She confessed and sighs.
" Explain further" another elder ushered their words in before silence could gather.
" That menace of a man had made me stay by his side ever since coming to your realm, after a few centuries of death and chaos, I no longer wanted to be around the destruction but he wouldn't let me simply leave him." She explained.
" so you tried to find his weakness by using yourself as the test subject?" Solomom asks, eyes of pity for the creature before him.
The woman held his eyes with no emotion flowing out of them before she continued. " more or less, either I would die and he would have a weakness for others to exploit or I stay a prisoner amongst the dead."
The elders in the room whisper around for a moment before looking back to her.
" Obviously your attempts failed, otherwise he wouldn't be here." The balding elder pointed out.
" Correct, I have found nothing so far that is able to kill us, but we can be put to sleep, that is what happened with me until your members broke the spell for it."
