Athanasia had heard the conversation prior, it wasn't on purpose or for ease dropping, she just simply can hear too well and forgets to let others know about it. She had found an extra pair of thick training pants and a loose white t shirt that had been folded in a cabinet with a few others.
The lack of shoes or a hair brush was the only thing she wished she could find, mostly because of the centuries old knots in her hair. The outfit did suit her well though, as most outfits did, the compliment to her figure would only cause more stares but she was used to it.
The men paused, Marshall couldn't help but scan her over, an uncomfortable feeling rising in his own training pants. He shook his head to regain some clarity back to his mind as the small woman walked barefoot out of the dressing room. Maiven had his mouth open unapologetically, causing the woman to chuckle.
" I could not find any shoes or something to tye my hair with, do you by chance have any ribbon or leather twine? I don't wish for my hair to get even dirtier by draping on the floor." She asked looking between the two. Maiven reaches inside his pant pocket and produces a brown hair tye and hands it to her.
" it's elastic, so it will work much better than ribbon or leather twine. Plus they don't really make them for hair anymore" he said shyly handing over his hair tye. His own red hair tied in a bun on his head bobbed a bit with the movement. Her eyes follow the elastic band as he set it in her palm.
Stretching it and playing with it a bit she seems to kind of understand the strange thing he handed her. With her delicate fingers, she gathers her hair behind the nape of her neck and feeds it through the elastic. The shimmer of her snow like hair more apprent with movement as the men seem to get lost watching her.
After a bit of a struggle she finally tyes her hair up into a long pony tail that lays over her shoulder. " wow, this thing actually works pretty well and I didn't have to tye any knots to keep it in place." This made Maiven chuckle and made Marshall feel almost bad for his mistrust in her. How could such a small woman, who's never even seen a hair tie be as evil as her other half.
" There is a lot more about this world that has changed since you were last on the surface, maybe after our meeting with the elders you can explore it some" Marshall said more kindly than he had meant to. This surprised everyone in the group, maives mouth specifically dropping. Both men knew she wouldn't be able to be left alone to explore but Marshall felt a pang of guilt.
The stubborn sturdy man that Marshall always had himself be, kind to a creature he's meant to kill. Maiven couldn't believe his mind, " boss are you ok?" He asks , slightly whispering towards him. This received a glare from Marshall that made the red headed man step back a bit.
The woman started to chuckle, amused by the emotion of the men before her. She had missed this type of free will that traveling with Lucius didn't have, the freedom to feel and be yourself.
" Don't we have a meeting to get to?" She asked. Stopping the death stare that Marshall still had on Maiven. He adjusts his throat, curly hair bouncing a bit as he hides a small tint of embarrassment on his cheeks. " right, yes, let's go"
Maiven starts to follow, his shoulder length hair waving a bit with the breeze of Marshall walking ahead. The woman started to follow them again, up the marbled hallway, and back into the crowded center.
More stares ensued as they moved to the center of the room where another glass elevator sat. Athanasia was used to stares, stares of lust, of hatred and of pity. She found it odd how others could so easily show their emotions, some not even aware of it.
She had been told that emotions were what separated the beasts from the angels. That beasts who show no emotion are heartless and unempathetic. So in turn she and Lucius had to be beasts, because beasts always won, well according to her mother.
Logically she knew none of it made sense, as she learned and lived amongst humans. Emotions were strength, emotions were not cowardly, they meant that you were one with yourself. At least that's what the man with the beautiful eyes had told her. Eyes similar to the young man whose back she followed forward.
As they reached the center of the large multi purpose area, the glass elevator here looked much fancier than the one she had seen previously. She supposed it would be helpful for humans but she never really saw the problem with simple stairs.
Marshall ushered the woman inside before blocking Maives path, " you know you're not allowed in the council chamber" he said looking at the other tall man. " aw come on Marshall, the curiosity will kill me before the elders do, I can just hide in the corner, I won't say a word" the man pleaded.
Marshall didn't seem to back down, " not gonna happen, if you want in then rank up" was all he said before closing the elevator before pushing the only button on the golden trimming inside. The woman took the second to study the tall, burly man. His hair reminded her of dark smoke, brown swirls with small hints of Grey.
He wasn't as young as the other men she saw in similar uniforms. They also treat him with more respect than others so Anthanasia assumed he had a higher position in their military. Marshall's build was also noticeably thicker than the others, not in an unhealthy way but in a way that made him look like he could climb up a mountain with ease.
The doors parted with a soft tone that signaled their arrival. This room was older looking, marble floors still lined it but the ceiling had old wooden beams that criss crossed. Old paintings of passed elders lined the walls along with decorations of won battles.
The elders all sat around a long oval wooden table, carvings of creatures and humans covering its shined surface. Solomon stood, " welcome, please step forward" he said motioning the two newcomers towards the table. The other old men simply stared with mixed expressions towards the white haired woman.
