Marshall jolted out of his own thoughts before nodding at the elder and motioning for Sia to follow him. The woman bows slightly again, her long pony tail falling over her shoulder.
" one moment, if I may ask a question" she causes the room to pause as others were standing to leave ss well.
Solomom raised a fuzzy, greying eye brow at her. " what's your family name, solomon?" She asks almost too casually for the others to believe.
As if two old acquaintances met once again after a very long time. Solomom chuckles a dry old laugh, " Mystic was my mother's maiden name" he answered knowing who she truly spoke of.
A bright smile lit up the beautiful woman's face before she could hide it. " I see, that's good to hear" she said kindly before turning her attention back to Marshall.
" we can continue now," her casual blank face now present once again. Marshall's mind lit up with questions but he tried to hold them in.
The movement of the elders could be heard as Sia and Marshall stepped back into the glass elevator. As the machine started moving up the woman seemed lost in thought while marshall could take a moment to look her over again.
The light from the elevator gave her white hair a very light gold tint to it as it lay partially over her shoulder. Her body fit almost too well in the standard training garb that everyone wears, he could see her making most of the women here jealous.
Though he guessed her looks couldn't be everyone's taste, yet he found her quite interesting. How could this woman pull him in so much when just having met her, let alone the fact that she's basically a demon.
He did prefer her hair down though, the length reminded him of spider silk that he so wanted to touch.
" you'll start to drool if you stare for too long" suddenly her ashen eyes were looking into his own golden brown ones.
For a split second they both felt like time had paused, like a single spotlight lit up in a darkened room. " I apologize " marshall broke the stare.
His ears and cheeks slightly pink from the instance, mostly with embarrassment for getting caught but also because of a light
flutter in his heart.
Sia could obviously hear the poor man's heart but from past experience it's best to not let him know that.
" Diana will be down the wing of the women's dormitory. Follow me" was all Marshall could form before his brain full adjusted back to his normal self.
Sia nodded, slightly smirking but hid it quickly to not make the big man blush more. Though she did deem it rather cute to see such a big man blush.
The central room was still buzzing, it seemed as if more people had gathered after seeing Marshall and Sia go down to the elders council room.
Whispers filled the air as Sia kept her eyes straight, not being able to help it but listening to the conversations of others.
Talk of attraction, jealousy, and curiosity fill her ears as she follows Marshall's large back down another marbled hallway. This one seemed empty until they walked a bit further in and doors elegantly lined the hallway walls.
Paintings and decorations of olden times sat around on tables and hung in between the rooms.
" why did you ask elder Solomon that question back there? You aren't trying to threaten him are you?" Marshall finally let the question slip a bit from his tongue.
The silence sat for a moment as the sound of her bare feet and Marshall's boots claimed the space.
" Do you really wish to know?" She teases him slightly with her calm expression. " what if it changes the perspective of your most treasured person?"
Sia countered. Marshall scoffed at the thought of his trust in the elder changing but he did think for a moment.
" I highly doubt it's anything that bad, but I would prefer to know if we are being back stabbed or not?" Marshall says convinced he could handle most of anything these days. Sia paused walking to look up at marshall, " your elder is not fully human, his mother and I are friends, well if she still lives." she quickly explains before walking ahead.
Marshall stood frozen in his spot before turning to slowly move towards her. " wait, wait, wait, you can't just drop a bomb like that on me and walk away." He said a bit taken back.
She looked at him confused, " I have never dropped a bomb on anyone" Marshall paused again for a moment to comprehend what she meant.
" no, not a literal bomb, I just meant that you need to explain further or this just doesn't make sense." Marshall said letting a hand lightly hold her forearm, keeping her from moving. " it's not my life to explain, why don't you ask him yourself?" She said inbetween looking at his hand on her arm.
The sensation wasn't unpleasant, in fact it made her skin feel like fire. A feeling she hasn't felt in a very long time but one she chooses to ignore before shaking him off.
Marshall took in her words as he let's go with her movement. He would definitely ask solomom what she meant but when he thought about it, there was always something different about the head elder.
" look who we have out here" a woman's voice makes Marshall jump from his thoughts as he sees a familiar red headed woman.
Sia had heard the woman opening a door near them but had been distracted by the fact that these men knew nothing of their leaders. A mistake she has made in the past.
" Oh good, we were just looking for you" Marshall said, adjusting his posture. Diana, a very fit looking, red headed woman, with bright blue eyes, stood smiling as she looked over the two. " Were you now? To me it didn't look like that" Diana teases.
Marshall rolls his eyes at the tall woman. Diana, peeked by curiosity and caffeine got a bit closer to Sia. " well hi there, my name is Diana, I work in special ops and tracking. Are you new?" She asks, ignoring the glare from marshall.
Sia looks up at the tall woman, wondering if she should be truthful.
" she's not a recruit, let's leave it at that. Solomon said to treat her like a guest since she will be helping us with information regarding the vampire king" Marshall stepped in.
Diana looked at him curiously before smiling back at sia, " very well, I'm guessing that's why you were lookin for me huh?"
Marshall nodds but is interrupted before he could continue. " I'll take perfect care of you, there's an extra room right next to mine and it's all set up with whatever you'll need."
Diana started as she wraps an arm around Sia's shoulders. The two women start to walk away marshall let's his annoyance get the better of him.
" hey! I still need to brief you on what the elders want" he raises his voice so Diana could hear him. " no need, I know what to do with guests" Diana waved back to marshall before walking towards the far end of the hallway.
Marshall sighs but a slight tinge of worry sits in his chest, he couldn't seem to tell if it was from leaving Diana alone with that creature or if he simply worried about Sia herself.
