Elian quietly shut the door to Lucien's study, folding his arms and rolling his eyes.
Rowena was in there, claiming she had an urgent matter to discuss privately with her husband. So he had to leave. Resisting would only cause suspicion.
A movement suddenly caught his eye, and when he turned, he saw Rita, one of Ms. Beck's maids, glancing from side to side as she hurried out of the manor.
Elian narrowed his eyes at her.
She was definitely up to something, and he was about to find out. Lucien had asked him to take a break from touching people, but seeing Rita looking so suspicious, he couldn't help it.
He glanced at the door behind him and sighed. He trusted Lucien. There was no way he would do anything with Rowena.
With that thought, he left the study hallway and quietly followed Rita out of the grand hall.
"Oh, come on," he groaned, staring at Rita as she ran down the stairs and into the hot sun.
