"Go, Finn." Lucien said, his arm around Elian's waist. "You will return to your duty only when Soren approves of your health."
Finn sighed and nodded slowly. "Yes, your grace."
"Goodnight," Elian said, pulling the door open himself.
"Goodnight," Finn murmured and dragged his feet away.
He heard the door closing behind him and suddenly felt displaced.
He didn't want to leave his post, that's all he had known for the past six years after Lucien saved him from his miserable life.
He hoped his wound heals faster so everything can return to how it used to be.
As he stood on the manor's veranda, he lifted his gaze to the full moon above the sky, the wind was soft and chilling, and the crickets could be heard all around the quiet courtyard.
Finn sighed quietly and glanced toward the infirmary. "Are you still in there?" He murmured to himself.
