Nyssa felt empty. Like…every life force had been drained from her. But at the same time, she felt calm. Like something turbulent had slowed its place in her body.
Slowly, her closed eyes opened. But she was met with darkness. Pitch black.
How…it wasn't night yet, was it?
Or wait. Had she turned blind?!
Her heart rate seemed to quicken at that thought, but before she could utter anything–
"Your subconscious has awakened. Better."
She heard a voice from behind her and she gasped, turning to the source of it. Her eyes squinted trying to make the form of whatever human that was. And then, she realized…it was the Chief.
Her lips pressed into a thin line. Why was it dark everywhere and she was alone with him?
She gave him a wary look, but also said a prayer of thanks. At least, she wasn't blind.
He chuckled, noticing her expression and then walked closer to her, "You fainted."
"Yeah…yeah," she nodded slowly, "I…I remember."
