Two weeks , it has been exactly two weeks since Daichi became an elite . Other than the than the procedures which Daichi found rather boring most of it went without any problems.
That is until today when he suddenly got a notification from The Champion, Steven , asking him to meet him foor a meeting.
Daichi walked slowly to the league headquarters, the massive gray walls, and obsidian glasses was imposing to say the least.
He walked up to a scanner, checked his I'd and pushed the button to the top floor in the elevator.
The reflection on the metal showed a youth around the age of 16, tanned skin , light brown eyes and greyish black hair..
He wore a standard league uniform tho with a cape and a gold rimmed badge on his chest signifying his elite 4 status.
The elevator door opened, a secretary walked in ushering him to the room
The heavy blast-doors of the Champion's room hiss shut behind Daichi .The room smelled like steel with various stones and gems arranged on a shelf.
Steven stared at Daichi,"That cape suits you , but you sire did take your time coming here didn't you" Steven chuckled ,"Anyways ."
Steven tapped the center of a mahogany desk, and a holographic map of the Hoenn region bloomed into life. He zoomed in on the jagged route staring at a red dot darting towards the Hoen desert.
Steven: "We have a problem. A group of hunters who have been poaching high-level Flygon and Claydol. To make matter worse they already took out two elite ranger teams that were on their pursuit"
Daichi's face turned serious "They're using the desert sandstorm to hide from the rangers aren't they."
"Exactly, these poachers are experienced they constantly use guerrilla tactics and sneak attacks to hamper the rangers , otherwise even 1 elite squad would've been enough, usually Drake would've taken up the mission but we've got ourselves a sandstorm specialist?"
Steven said as he looked at Daichi
"I'll set out immediately, those poachers will be captured soon."
Daichi replied with confidence
"Oh I don't doubt it , and Daichi" he called out
"Don't hold back , show them why the Elite 4 is feared"
Daichi nodded and set off
*The. Dead zone of the desert*
The three armored SUVs sit idling at the base of a massive dune, their engines muffled by the howling wind. The air inside the lead vehicle thick with the smell of sweat and blood .
The lead hunter, "L", stood grinning
"Elite-level Rangers, my ass, They fight like they're reading from a manual. Toss the captured Pokemons into the back. Get ready to move boys ."
A nearby hunter tapping his tablet suddenly spoke out "Sir, the pulse-emitters are going haywire . The static is off the charts. If we go now , the storm is going to bury the convoy before we hit the coast."
L waved his subordinates worry "Relax, We've neutralized two elite squads already . Steven Stone is stuck in Ever Grande playing politician, and the rest of the Elite 4 are halfway across the region dealing with more important problems than smuggling. We just need to hide out for a few days and then we'll hit the coast and make our grand escape, simple really."
Suddenly, the one of the hunter's tablet let out a high-pitched cry. A single, massive red dot appeared ony he far right of the screen, it was approaching fast.
The hunter spoke out "Wait... Boss? I've got a reading. Something just entered the 'Dead Zone' of the sandstorm."
L shrugged it off "A wild Pokémon? Probably just a rogue Cacturne. Ignore it."
The hunter gulped "No. It's moving too fast. It's moving against the wind. And it's not just one signature... it's a high-level Trainer ID. It's encrypted. It's...."
CRACK.
A massive tremor shook the ground so violently the lead SUV nearly tipped over. A figure was flying rapidly towards them.
L grabbed his binoculars and peered into the swirling chaos. Out of the dust, a single figure was standing on top of a rather large flygon .
L cursed "Is that another Ranger?" He looked harder then started to laugh " He's just a kid. He isn't even wearing goggles!"
A frightened hunter came running "Boss... the ID just cleared the League firewall. That's not a Ranger. That's the new seat. That's the Hoenn Elite 4."
The temperature dropped several degrees , panic filled L eyes as hew saw the figure grab 3 pokeballs.
L shouted at his subordinates "CALL OUT YOUR POKEMON QUICKLY AND PREPARE ESCA-"
Before he could finish, the very ground beneath the SUVs into quick sand .The armored vehicles began to sink as if the desert itself was swallowing them whole. The hunters scrambled out, boots sinking deep into the sand. They looked up, and the world went grey.
Through the choking wall of sand, a massive, jagged silhouette loomed like a prehistoric mountain. Tyranitar, it simply walked , and with every step , the Sand Strom ripped more paint from the hunters' vehicles. The sheer "Pressure" of its presence had them unable to breath.
"Don't just stand there! Kill it!" L screamed, his voice cracking. "Release everything! NOW!"
The air was suddenly filled with the red flash of Pokéballs. Twenty Pokémon hit the sand at once. It was a messy, desperate formation: nine Houndoom ,likely used for hunting . 4 Lairons and 2 Agrrons, a heavy-metal wall intended to stop anything in its tracks.the rest were a mix of Zangoose and Servipers.
Daichi descended through the eye of the storm, standing calmly on the back of his Flygon. As the dragon's talons touched the crest of a dune, Daichi stepped off, unmoved by the small army facing him.
L immediately launched the offensive "Houndoom Crunch!!"
The Houndoom charged at Daichi with malice , Daichi however remained still . The moment Houndoom was about to reach for Daichi a blur of metal struck it square om the head throwing it far away.
The figure landed, a mole like creature with drills on both its hands on its head appeared , glaring at the Houndoom.
L's eyes widened "Excadrill" he murmured.
