Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: The Final Calm

Three hundred nautical miles southeast of West City lay the center of a red alert zone designated by the Meteorological Bureau.

A super typhoon—"Poseidon's Wrath"—was raging across the ocean.

Gale-force winds whipped the sea into waves dozens of meters high, like countless deep-sea monsters trying to swallow the sky.

Dark storm clouds hung low overhead while lightning streaked across them in violent flashes. Each thunderclap echoed like an explosion.

Yet at the exact center of the storm… everything was eerily calm.

This was the eye of the typhoon.

Ten meters above the ocean floated a simple white beach chair.

Beside it, on a small round table, sat an elegant tea set. Steam rose gently from the teapot.

Sitting casually in the chair was Krillin.

He crossed his legs while reading a newspaper protected from the wind by a thin barrier of Qi.

It looked less like the center of a catastrophic storm and more like a peaceful afternoon in a garden.

"The daily missions from this System are getting stranger and stranger."

Krillin lifted his teacup and took a relaxed sip.

The System notification floated before his eyes.

[Daily Task: Drink tea elegantly in the eye of a Category 12 typhoon for 30 minutes]

Progress: 29 / 30 minutes

At that moment, a cow swept up by the storm winds flew past the edge of the calm zone, mooing pitifully as it spun through the air.

Krillin didn't even glance at it.

He casually flicked a finger.

A gentle burst of Qi caught the cow and carried it safely toward land several kilometers away.

"One minute left."

Krillin set the teacup down and closed his eyes.

Although his body appeared relaxed, his mind was moving at an incredible speed.

Thanks to Genius Intellect and Multi-Mind Processing, billions of calculations ran simultaneously inside his mind.

He was analyzing the technique known as Kaioken.

In the original martial arts teachings of King Kai, Kaioken worked by explosively increasing the user's Qi output.

It temporarily multiplied strength, speed, and defense—but at the cost of extreme strain on the body.

Even Goku had risked ruptured muscles and blood vessels while using it.

"My body follows the Saitama Template," Krillin muttered.

"In theory… it has no upper limit."

Inside his mind, several streams of thought worked simultaneously.

Thought Thread One: Simulate Qi circulation. Compress Qi into the Dantian, then distribute it throughout the body instantly like a high-pressure pump.

Thought Thread Two: Monitor physical stress. Ordinary bodies would collapse under this level of energy, but the cells of the Saitama Physique regenerated instantly.

Thought Thread Three: Optimize power output.

"The traditional Kaioken is forced overload. What I want… is a stable overclock."

Inside his mental simulation space, a golden figure resembling himself practiced continuously.

The red aura of Kaioken slowly changed.

Instead of burning wildly like flames, it compressed into a thin dark-red layer tightly surrounding the body.

This wasn't simply multiplying power.

It was precise control of high-density energy.

At that moment—

[Ding! Daily Task Completed]

Reward:

• 5 Free Attribute Points

• 500g Premium Da Hong Pao Tea

Krillin opened his eyes and glanced at the reward list.

"Five points again…"

After five years of daily missions, rewards like this barely impressed him anymore.

If anything, the tea interested him more than the attribute points.

Krillin stood up and stretched.

The hurricane winds around him continued raging violently.

He casually swung one arm.

BOOM!

A massive shockwave of air pressure tore straight through the storm.

The dense clouds split apart for several kilometers as sunlight poured down onto the ocean.

"Time to head home. Bulma will complain again if dinner isn't ready."

Krillin's body flickered and he vanished instantly using Instant Transmission.

The beach chair and tea set lost their Qi support and slowly fell into the sea.

Capsule Corporation – Gravity Room Corridor

When Krillin reappeared, he saw a small boy pressing his face against the reinforced observation glass.

His cheeks were squished flat as he stared inside at repair robots working in the Gravity Room.

"Trunks, what are you doing?" Krillin walked over and lifted his son onto his shoulders.

Now five years old, Trunks already displayed the same clever expression Bulma often had.

His compact muscles hinted clearly at Krillin's powerful genetics.

"Dad! Perfect timing! I want to try 50× gravity, but Mom locked the controls. She said it'll stunt my growth."

Trunks pointed angrily at the console.

"Your mom's right," Krillin said while pinching his cheek.

"Besides, gravity training alone isn't enough. Your body is still growing. You need to learn technique."

"Technique?" Trunks scoffed.

"But Dad, you solve everything with one punch. What technique is that?"

Krillin's mouth twitched slightly.

This kid really knew how to expose him.

"That's called great skill hidden within simplicity," Krillin replied confidently.

"When you reach my level, you can fight however you want. But until then… you need to learn how to fly."

"Fly? Bukūjutsu?" Trunks' eyes lit up.

"When Gohan came last time, he could almost do it. Though he flew like a drunk duck."

"Don't laugh at Gohan," Krillin said. "He just lacks confidence."

Krillin set Trunks down.

"Come to the backyard. I'll teach you Bukūjutsu today. If you don't learn it, no chicken drumsticks tonight."

"Hmph! I'll learn it instantly!" Trunks puffed out his chest proudly.

Krillin chuckled inwardly.

His son's talent really was frightening.

But Bukūjutsu required precise Qi control—not just raw strength.

"Watch carefully," Krillin said.

He slowly lifted off the ground and hovered in midair.

"Feel the Qi inside you. Don't treat it like explosive power. Imagine it like water or wind flowing from your feet to support your body."

Krillin carefully explained the principles.

However—

After only two sentences, he realized Trunks wasn't even listening.

The boy had already closed his eyes and started flapping his arms wildly.

"Idiot… you don't flap your arms—" Krillin stopped mid-sentence.

Trunks' body suddenly trembled.

Then his feet lifted off the ground.

The five-year-old child slowly floated half a meter into the air.
