Chapter 14 - Ginny's confession

'Did you do that'

After the Quidditch match ended, Ginny immediately returned to her room and opened the leather diary and wrote those words.

The words were quickly replaced.

'What? What did I do?'

'I'm talking about the hexed bludger.'

'I'm confused. Are you accusing me of hexing a bludger? I am just a book, how would I have done that?'

Ginny hesitated, what he said made sense, but she couldn't shake off a creeping feeling about the diary.

'I know you're related. Don't deny it.'

'I don't understand Ginny, don't you trust me?'

Her breathing became rougher, pupils dilated.

After thinking for what felt like an hour, she couldn't take it anymore and threw the diary across the room.

After throwing the diary away, it felt like a weight had left her shoulders and her breathing became softer.

She shuddered and quickly ran out of the room, slamming the door not looking back.

In the empty room the diary was open, on the page was one line.

'How did this happen...'

...

"Where did Ginny go?"

After they had been distracted by the giant squid waving its tentacles, they noticed that Ginny was missing.

"Did any of you see her?" Basil asked.

"If you're talking about Ginny, she went into the castle." Someone behind him answered.

Turning around Basil saw Demelza Robins, Ginny's dorm mate.

"Thanks Demelza." Basil smiled.

"No problem. Just help her. She needs someone."

She smiled sadly.

"Don't worry, she'll get better."

Basil gave an encouraging smile.

So the group walked towards the castle, through the open doors and up the stairs.

"Wait, how do we find her in this giant castle?" After a while of walking aimlessly, Colin remembered that it was Hogwarts. And Hogwarts was big. There was no way they could find a single person in this giant castle.

"Don't worry, fate says we will find what we want."

Basil said something that confused the others.

"Are you a seer?"

Luna asked, surprised. It was extremely rare to see a seer, especially one that can use the abilities of seers.

"No, not a seer. I just know a lot of seers."

"Wow! How many?"

"A dozen I think... yeah around that much. I only really knew five of them though."

"Cool! You have to tell me more later."

Luna was curious but decided to leave it for later, prioritizing Ginny's predicament.

They continued to walk around the castle, occasionally asking around. And finally they met someone that saw Ginny. They followed the lead towards an empty room on the fourth floor.

...

Ginny was tired, she had run across the castle countless times, trying to forget about the diary.

Eventually she managed to calm down a little and sat down in a room.

"Hah..."

What should she do? Her gut told her to tell someone, but she didn't have the courage. What if they hated her? What if they thought she was a monster? Countless doubts clouded her mind, making her unable to make up her mind.

It took a long time to make up her mind, and eventually she decided to tell her friends.

She stood up and walked towards the door and opened it.

But before she could open it, the door was opened from the other side.

Bonk

The door struck her forehead, knocking her to the floor.

"She should be in here."

The voice of Basil flowed through the room and into Ginny's ears.

Basil, Colin, and Luna entered the room. They noticed Ginny on the ground holding her head.

"Hey Ginny, what are you doing?"

"It's because of you!"

Ginny pouted, temporarily forgetting about the diary.

"Oh sorry."

Basil thought of asking about her problem but after seeing her relaxed, he decided to leave it for later.

After glaring at Basil, Ginny remembered what she wanted to do and became nervous again.

The trio watched her as her expressions constantly changed between nervousness and determination.

"Haa... I have something to tell you guys."

She took a deep breath and decided to tell the truth she hid for so long.

"What is it?"

"I.. I think I opened the chamber of secrets."

Ginny closed her eyes, bracing for when they would call her a monster.

Basil narrowed his eyes, silently staring at Ginny.

"What!? You're the heir of Slytherin?"

Colin shouted unbeliving.

"You are the heir?"

Luna muttered curiously.

"Y.. Yeah I think I am..."

Her voice got smaller and smaller as she continued on.

"I don't remember what I did on Halloween.. all I remember is suddenly getting red paint on me..."

At the end, her voice was so quiet that no one could hear it. Ginny opened her eyes, glancing at them. There was worry and tiredness lingering in her eyes.

They were silent for a moment absorbing the words that were just uttered.

"H..How?"

After a pause, Colin asked nervously.

"I don't know... but I think it's related to a diary."

"Diary? What diary?"

"Well... I found a diary in my books, at first I thought it was a normal dairy but I soon found out that it can write back. I was writing to it all this time but for some reason I don't remember some of the stuff I wrote. It was like a dream. And I also have a feeling about the diary, something is off about it."

Basil thought over what she said. Is seemed like a dark artifact had somehow found it's way into Hogwarts.

"Could I see this diary?"

I had something to say but I forgot so I will write this for no reason.
