Chapter 7 - Night jurisdiction

Chapter Seven. — The Hall of Night

Clark! Clark!

The corridor was long enough to swallow footsteps. Polished obsidian floors reflected the faint blue lanterns suspended between towering columns. Each column was carved with frequency glyphs — red at the base, violet near the ceiling — the spectrum rising like a silent warning.

A man walked through the corridor without haste. His cloak was dark silver, lined at the edges with a thin seam of deep indigo. The symbol on his chest was not bright — it did not need to be. Its authority did not shine. It weighed.

Guards stood between each column

unmoving,helmets lowered and Halberds grounded.

They did not even glance at him but they simply stepped aside. At the end of the corridor stood a door large enough to humble sound itself. Black metal, veins of dim blue running through it like sleeping lightning.

The man stopped then placed his palm

against the surface....The door opened inward without a sound.

Inside, the chamber was circular.

High ceiling. No visible torches. Only a slow rotation of faint starlight above — as if the sky itself had been captured and forced to revolve indoors.

Three seats stood upon a raised crescent platform, not thrones but seats.

But they did not need ornament to command reverence. On the right sat a woman...

Her beauty was undeniable — sharp cheekbones, flawless dark skin, posture straight as a drawn blade. But it was clear , what unsettled the room was her eyes.

They were not bright nor were glowing. They were deep....Dark as unlit space.Looking into them felt like falling into a place where light forgot how to exist.

She did not move when the man entered.

On the left sat another man.Broad-shouldered,hair streaked with silver though his face held no age. A faint scar ran from his temple to his jaw — not healed by frequency but deliberately left untouched.

His presence was heavy, contained.

Like a storm that had chosen patience.

And in the center — The third figure.

Seated slightly forward. Hands resting loosely upon his knees. He did not radiate power. He did not glow because he did not need to.

The air around him felt… structured.

As if space aligned itself carefully in his presence. His face was calm , ageless and unreadable. The man who had entered stepped forward and knelt enough for the authority infront of him.

"First Veil of the Night," he addressed the central figure.

His voice did not echo because the room did not permit it.

"There has been an anomaly within Night jurisdiction." The dark-eyed woman's gaze shifted slightly. The scarred man's fingers tapped once against his armrest.

The central figure spoke.

"Report."

"A new recruit has entered the Night jurisdiction," the messenger continued. "Recovered from Outer Verge collapse zone. Brought in by a Warden of the First Ring, Night Cycle."

The scarred man's eyes narrowed slightly.

"The one stationed near the lowest layer?" he asked.

"Yes." The silence stretched.....

The dark-eyed woman finally spoke.

Her voice was soft but the temperature of the chamber dropped.

"A normal collapse nothing major"

"No," the messenger replied carefully. " I think this one is different "

The air tightened.

The scarred man leaned forward slightly.

"Different you think?" he repeated.

"Yes."

The central figure's eyes shifted — not dramatically, just slightly.

"And the fluctuation?" he asked.

"Detected by Sacred Waters. Resonance irregularity. Core fracture confirmed."

A pause. The dark-eyed woman's lips curved faintly.

"Fracture… or formation?"

The messenger lowered his gaze.

"That remains unclear." The silence stretched again ,heavy and measured.

Finally, the central figure spoke.

"Place him under observation."

The scarred man exhaled through his nose.

"And if the fracture spreads?"

The central figure did not blink.

"Then we find out the truth and what must be done, whether we are witnessing instability…"

His gaze settled toward the far wall.

"…or evolution."

The chamber went still.

"Dismissed," he said quietly.

The messenger bowed and rose.

As he turned to leave, the dark-eyed woman spoke once more.

"Ensure the Warden understands."

A slight pause.

"If this anomaly becomes a threat… Night will not hesitate."

The door closed behind the messenger with no sound.

Inside the chamber, the three figures remained seated, unmoving and Watching.
