Chapter 5 Breakthrough.
So he plannned this , one whispered.
Hector smiled. I needed the pressure of instability, he said. A living crucible!!. Hahahahha. Then he activated the obelisk. Then..... The Breakthrough happened...
The ruin screamed. Energy surged outward like a tidal wave. Carnis enlighters were thrown against the walls. Some shattered and some collapsed instantly.
Echo felt his core vibrate violently — almost tearing. The green aura around Hector intensified, brightened , then deepened.The green fractured. Blue erupted from him.
Not calm blue like the Sacred Waters. It was
Violent, expanding and dominant.
But before he went through to the Aethric frequency. Echo noticed most of the carnis dead and the remaining...rage filled their eyes, then an idea struck him.
Everyone i want you to channel your lights in me I have a plan!....all enlighters looked towards him including the verdans. The carnis had no choice but their only hope.
Suddenly , echo felt his ight core billowing with power , he compressed as many as he could , with no hesitation he rushed forward with a burst of blur. Passing through the ranks with extraordinary speed. It felt good and addictive. So this is it... to have power, he tought.
The rest apart from the carnis instantly noticed what he was about to do. They will die trusting a carnis for the glimmer of satisfaction than trust Hector.
Echo noticed his speed and power increasing, the was a surprise on his face ...the verdans joined in with their power.
He reached the obelisk, with no hesitation he pushed its center with all his might and power. Then
CRAACK!!!!
The dorm around the obsilik cracked and shattered and all the catalyst spilled out chaotically he was hit first with the wave.
BOOMMM!!
The remaining carnis and the verdans braced themselves with their remaining colours.
The air compressed. Sound distorted. Reality bent around him.
Verdan enlighters nearby dropped to their knees — unable to withstand the shift.
Who dares .....hector shouted in rage.The obelisk shattered completely and the ruin destabilized. A deep blue blur flashed out from the center.
Hector!!! he breakthrough, everyone was disheartened and in deep fear. Who dears to interrupt!! i was nearly there!!, I swear I was nearly there!, he shouted in pain and rage.
His eyes scanned the ranks looking for the traitor....The new Aethric enlighter did not look at the fallen Carnis.He didn't need them anymore. He released his pressure .The pressure he generated crushed weaker cores automatically.
Echo felt it. His Red core flickered wildly.
He knew he would die if he stayed.
So he did the one thing hector didn't account for. He resisted ,not outwardly but Internally.
Echo forced his Carnis core to contract instead of expand. He suppressed resonance instead of reaching for it. While others panicked and tried to flare their light to survive — amplifying the pressure — Echo dimmed himself.
The pressure passed over him like wind over stone. He survived but barely.
You!!!, hector noticed.
Echo tried to escape.
Escaping doesn't mean that "I am weak,right!"
CLACK ! CLACK!
ECHO!!! come back here you damn pig , face me like a man you are.
A heavy sigh! escaped from echo's lips....I have to run unti....

A blue light illuminated the world....and he felt his frequency light dim.Sound distorted,
time slowed....Crack!!!
His core cracked.

The Aftermath was bloody ....the ruin was collapsed. The remaining Carnis were dead. The one's who trusted him, the one's who hesitated and the one's who smiled before charging.
The Verdans were severely damaged. Hector stood alone in blue radiance.
He had no reason to kill Echo.
Echo was nothing. Just another weak Carnis who happened to survive.
Hector left without looking back.
The expedition was declared a "catastrophic loss. No investigation,no justice.

But something happened to me there,Echo said softly. When I suppressed my frequency… when I forced my core to contract against Aethric pressure… When all light entered my core but I can't figure what happened to me then.
Silence filled the chamber as the Sacred Waters pulsed once — deeper than before.
As if listening and remembering.

Echo stared straight at elsa ,he broke the silence.. ...You didn't introduce yourself properly and you speak like someone who belongs to an order," he said quietly.
