"Jade." Stella inched closer to her. "How do you…" Before she could finish, Jade was already on her feet.
"I have to go."
"But I need to examine you," Stella argued, blocking her path. "I have to run some tests to know what I can do for you, how to reverse whatever is wrong with you… I meant fix it and help you come out of the voice speaking in your head."
Jade looked her in the eyes and whispered, "I am fine." Without further ado, she walked out of the ward, not letting anyone else stop her. She continued until she was inside the elevator, ignoring everyone staring at her along the way.
Once inside, she exhaled and rested her back against the wall without pushing any buttons. She ran a finger through her hair, her breath heavy, her mind plagued with just one word: "Van is responsible." She could no longer feel the device that had been forced into her ear, but she could hear Luther's voice loud and clear, and it made her sick.
