Aoi's expression tightened for the first time. "...Seriously? Survival of the Fittest?"
Seto narrowed his eyes. "What's the problem with that card?"
"Just watch," Aoi said flatly.
Green light surged across the field—then three monsters shattered at once:
Yami Yugi's Dark Magician
Joey's Red-Eyes Black Dragon
Rex's Giant Rex
Seto's gaze sharpened. "Only the Normal Monsters were destroyed."
"Good eye," Aoi replied. "That's exactly what this Trap does when it resolves: it wipes all Normal Monsters on the field. Then Rex can Special Summon up to that many Level 4 or lower Dinosaurs from his Deck… but they're destroyed during the End Phase."
Rex grinned like a man unveiling a masterpiece. "Correct! Three monsters were destroyed—so I Special Summon Babycerasaurus, Petiteranodon, and Tyranno Infinity!"
Under The Seal of Orichalcos, their bodies took on a dark sheen and their ATK climbed by 500 each.

Joey barked a laugh. "So what? It's the End Phase—your dinosaurs are gonna blow up anyway!"
Rex's smile widened. "Heh. That's the whole point."
BOOM—BOOM—BOOM!
All three dinosaurs detonated at the End Phase.
Aoi's eyes narrowed. Here comes the real engine.
Rex threw his arm forward. "Now their effects trigger! Babycerasaurus was destroyed by an effect—I Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Dinosaur from my Deck! Petiteranodon was destroyed by an effect—I Special Summon a Level 5 or higher Dinosaur!"
Two monsters slammed down like a judge's gavel. Orichalcos boosted them immediately.

Anzu's face went pale. "Yugi and Joey's aces got wiped… and now they've got that on the field?!"
Seto clicked his tongue, irritation showing despite himself. "Those two insects actually became troublesome."
Aoi didn't look away. "Don't panic. Yugi and Joey can handle it."
Weevil cackled from the side. "Hehehe! See? This is what we can do now!"
Yami Yugi's eyes hardened. "Stronger than before, yes. But still weak."
Yami Yugi's Turn
"My turn—draw!"
He slapped down a Spell with authority. "I activate Dark Magic Attack! If I control Dark Magician, I destroy all of my opponent's Spell and Trap Cards!"
"And Dark Magician of Illusion is treated as Dark Magician while it's on the field." His voice carried absolute confidence.
Dark energy gathered at the tip of the staff—
"Got you!" Weevil shrieked, laughing. "I activate Counter Trap Judgment of Anubis! I discard one card—negate and destroy that Spell, then I can destroy one face-up monster you control and burn you for its ATK!"
He pointed like a prosecutor. "Your Dark Magician of Illusion gets destroyed—and you take 2100!"
Yami Yugi's mouth curved. "Sore wa dou kana."
Weevil's grin froze.
A second Counter Trap snapped open like a guillotine.
"I activate Counter Counter. I negate the activation of your Counter Trap and destroy it."
Lightning crackled—Judgment of Anubis imploded midair.
Weevil's face contorted. "W-What?!"
"Then my Dark Magic Attack resolves." Yami Yugi's tone didn't change. "All of your Spell and Trap Cards are destroyed."
BANG! BANG! Weevil's back row vanished in smoke.
Yami Yugi continued, chaining without hesitation. "When I activate a Spell or Trap, Dark Magician of Illusion lets me Special Summon Dark Magician from my Graveyard."
A purple flare erupted behind him.
"Appear—Dark Magician!"
Dark Magician (2500/2100)
Rex's eyes flashed. "Special Summon? Fine—then I activate Trap Hunting Instinct!"
"What?!" Anzu gasped.
"When my opponent Special Summons, I can Special Summon a Dinosaur from my hand!" Rex declared. "I Special Summon Petiteranodon!"

Aoi's eyes narrowed. He's setting up the graveyard follow-up again.
Yami Yugi adjusted his stance. "Battle. Dark Magician of Illusion attacks Inzektor Dragonfly."

"Dark Magician attacks Inzektor Centipede—Dark Magic!"

Yami Yugi set one card. "End."

"My turn—draw!"
Aoi called across the field, voice sharp. "Yugi—Rex is about to use the second effect."
"The second effect?" Yami Yugi repeated, eyes narrowing.
Rex smirked. "You really know your cards, don't you, Duel Queen. Yes—Survival of the Fittest in the Graveyard."
He thrust his hand forward. "I banish Survival of the Fittest from my Graveyard—then I destroy one Dinosaur I control and one card you control!"
His finger snapped toward his own monster. "I destroy Petiteranodon… and I destroy your Dark Magician!"
BOOM! Dark Magician shattered almost as soon as he'd returned.
Anzu's hands flew to her mouth. "No way…"
"And Petiteranodon's effect triggers!" Rex roared. "I Special Summon Ultimate Tyranno from my Deck!"
A hulking shadow landed with a quake. Orichalcos surged—its ATK jumped.
Ultimate Tyranno (3100/1800)
Aoi exhaled, half-amused. "DOMA really is terrifying—turning these two into something this nasty."
Seto's eyes stayed cold. "You still think they won't lose to these clowns?"
Aoi's answer was immediate. "Yugi and Joey aren't falling here."
Seto's mouth twitched into the faintest smile—agreement, without conceding the point.
The offensive–defensive war had officially begun.
